i assume that for those staying on property at Disneyland, free parking is offered like WDW does? do they offer valet parking at Paradise Pier?

Are you wanting to park at the hotel or drive to the park (from the hotel)? I am pretty sure that all three hotels are closer than any parking garage. You would walk to the park from your hotel room.

This is correct. You'll just stay parked at the hotel as it's more convenient. The cost is $15 per night. The cost is $15 a day to park at the general parking lots as well so no difference there.

Wow. Glad i asked. Probably since space at DLCA is at such a premium. Its just a bit dissappointing that onsite guests dont get free parking. For the extra $7 ill sprin for valet vs self park. $42 extra for our 6 nights isnt gonna break

The hotels are closer then the parking lots so you don't drive to the parks if you are staying onsite. You walk! Enjoy your trip!

and it's a $15 "resort" fee, right?!
There is no longer a resort fee.
The resort fee included parking, and was replaced by the parking fee.

I have booked all trips thru WDT or Costco and have never had to pay this before, yet I just got off the phone with them and was informed about it. Another thing that has changed!! UGH! I am now pricing out my trip seperatley and at good neighbor hotels jsut trying to justify the $1000 hotel price differance for 4 nights an PPH( plus $60 for parking). :rolleyes2

They've had the parking fees (formerly resort fees) for the last 12 years at least. Perhaps you've just overlooked it in the past?

Don't forget tips.

I considered using valet on our last trip, but the waiting part is annoying.

Also, unless you are going out in the car on most days, at least to my mind, it seemed silly to use valet. Take a few extra moments to park the car on my own and leave it there for a few days? Yes, please. But if I'm taking the car out EVERY day, then OK.

I just went through Costco Travel, and it states "Vacation packages for hotel stays at one of the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort features amenities like high speed internet access, newspaper delivery (weekdays), access charges for calling card, toll free calls and local calls within a 12 mile radius, self parking, unlimited use of the health facilities."

I don't see that on the WDTC booking pages.

But if you're booking hotel-only, then that's the difference. Although we've had a car for most of our Disneyland trips, I like a parking fee rather than a resort fee. It irks me to pay for things like newspapers and access to a pool...but parking? I can get behind charging for parking. (though it's lovely that WDW doesn't charge that for resort guests)

Yes, maybe the PP is forgetting that parking used to be part of the resort fee. Now the resort fee has been taken away and the parking fee stands alone, but it was always an extra fee tacked on to the rate of the room. Parking was never "free".

There is a slight difference...
The hotels only charge based on the length of stay, so a 1 night stay would pay $15 for parking.
An offsite guest using the general parking lots would pay $30, $15 for check in day and $15 for check out day.

We valet at the Grand on occasion and we call before we head to get the car, and it is always there by the time we get there (5-7 mins?) Ask for the number when you get there and write it on the tag.
