Hey everyone, I'm helping a friend plan out her one day at Disneyland park so they can get the most out of only having one day. We have stayed within walking for so long I'm out of the loop of how needing to park changes getting there for rope drop. They are going next Monday. That is still a non early entry day, correct? What time does the parking ramp open? The park opens at 8:00 that day. Will they have trouble making rope drop because of needing to park?

You're right that Monday is not an early entrance day. I believe the parking garage opens at 7am, though someone else may correct me on that (I'm not an early morning person :)).

There will not be MM on Monday. They should park in the Toy Story lot to save time. It's on Harbor Drive, south of Katella.

Regarding the Toy Story lot, does it open regularly in the morning now? Last July when I was staying at the Marriott Suites (right across from Toy Story lot), we were unable to walk over or park in that lot in the morning because it was closed! It didn't open until later in the day.

I would hate for someone to try and use that lot in the early morning if it isn't open.

Another strategy is to drop off your party and then the driver can park and join the rest of you in line. That way you can park the car and get a good spot in line.

how can you choose which lot you can park in????which lot is better and closer???

I highly doubt that happened. Toy Story is a regular parking lot and has been since the beginning of last summer. On the Disneyland site it will direct you to that lot if you are traveling from the South.

It depends on where you come from, of course. It's really easy to let Disney direct you. There are signs on the public streets. All the way from the freeway and at the intersections.

The M&F is closer to the gates. But if you aren't going to walk from your car to the gates the Toy Story lots takes less time. Less time to drive into, drive out of, walk between the car to the shuttles buses, and usally faster from the shuttle bus drop off to the gates than the M&F trams.

Um, ok. Just sharing this information. One of the reasons we chose Marriott Suites was its closeness to the Toy Story Lot. It was a big bummer that it wasn't open in time for us to get to rope drop.

It could have been closed for any number of reasons and it could be that it opens everyday now same time as Mickey and Friends. I was just checking. :confused3

Well we will either be staying at the HOJO or Holiday Inn REsort... So Toy Story lot is a closer walk to trams and into park the the M&F???

I have never parked a car while visiting DLR but if I had to I'd drop everybody *assuming I had another adult with me* off out front on Harbor, have them get in line *but keep my park hopper with me in case they got in before I joined them* while I parked the car, then I'd join them in line or in the park, this way the rest of your group will be much closer to the park entrance and "you" could join them in line *again if you make it in time, I wouldn't have my group wait for me, if I was too late I'd join them as soon as I could get in the park myself.

Yes. It takes about 3 minutes to walk from the furthest spot in the toy story lot to the shuttle pick up. From the M&F garage it could take 2 or 3 times longer to get to the trams. Also the TS shuttles come more often than the M&F trams.

The Hojo, on Harbor is so close you can walk to the parks. The Holiday Inn that is next to I5 is closer to the Toy Story lot.

thank you good to know... but is this lot always opened?? I know our very first time we went about 4 yrs ago we parked in that lot once and then every since then we had to or did park in the garages.

The Toy Story lot was completly changed last winter. It is now one of the two main parking areas and always open. It's just as regular for parking as the M&F garage.
