We are staying at the POFQ and have a rental car. I was wondering if we would be allowed to park at the Poly for the day when we go to MK. We have dinner reservations that night at Kona and would rather not hassle with picking the car up after dinner. Will the parking attendant allow this?

My experience with parking at the Contemporary and Poly is that I have got only a 3 hour parking pass. The security guy checked my name on the PS list, highlighted it and gave us only 3 hours. We were also staying onsite at Disney, but not at either one of those hotels.

I seem to remember we didn't have an issue though parking at Beach Club. They didn't bother with a three hour pass there though. I was able to park anywhere in the self parking area.

Why don't you just park at the TTC and walk over to the Polynesian? You can take either the monorail or ferry to MK. And then after dinner, just take the short path back to TTC and pick up your car.

I know that parking spots are limited and those actually staying at the resort should be able to park in their own parking lot but if those that are not registered there grab the spots early in the day, well, those that are paying for the resort end up waaay back in the lot. I think that using TTC main lot for parking is a much better solution.

Each of the resorts near a park have a sign before the guard station saying that you can't park there for going to the park. Sometimes they give the 3 hour parking permit. Sometimes they do nothing and let you in. Recently, this week, we went to pin trading on Thurs night at All Star Sports, Fri to pin trading at Contemporary, then Sat to pin trading at Pop Century. Each time they took my driver's license and wrote something on a clip board. As I pulled away from the guard, they looked at my driver's license and wrote that down on the clip board. Maybe it's because it's the 4th of July weekend and security is more tight.

I would also go with the TTC. The walk from there to the Polynesian is very nice in the evenings. I have seen security pushing the policy on parking some trips and not on others, it just depends on whats going on during your stay so to save the hassle of having to turn around I'd just go with the TTC.

Good Luck!

This sounds like increased security to me. We went to the CR for dinner at Chef Mickey's on June 20th and I just held my liscense out the car window and they took a "quick" look and then just directed me to valet parking.

They may ask for your PS number and check it against their list. If it is too far off, they may refuse you entry to the parking lot. I agree with the others. Park in the TTC parking lot and walk over from the Polynesian after your dinner. A very easy walk. Or you can ride the monorail back over to the TTC from the Polynesian if you don't care to walk over.

It's real frustrating when guests at the Polynesian can't find a parking place because other guests have parked there.

I would just take the bus to the MK that day and you can monorail over to the Poly to eat. If you drive you have to park at the TTC and then tram, and either boat or monorail over to the MK anyway. Cars are not allowed near the MK entrance. Only the Disney buses leave you off at the entrance.

If they allowed people to do this, there would be no parking spots for the Poly guests.

I agree. Just take the bus to MK and monorail or boat it to Poly.

You want to park your car at Poly and do the MK?? If you're doing MK, please take the bus there and enjoy your time at MK and then monorail or boat it to Poly and enjoy your dining at Kona. This will give the Poly guests more room to park their cars and you can stay at MK for as long as you want without restriction on when you need to move your car out of Poly's parking lot and you don't even have to drive, let Disney drive you to MK.

I really don't think it's a good idea to park at the Polynesian all-day! Because of the fact that it's a hotel and people stay there so they need the parking space and not you. I would say that they wouldn't allow you to do it anyways. Maybe park at the Transportation and ticket center(TTC). It's practically next door to the Polynesian anyways. After you are done at Magic Kingdom then go park at the Kona Cafe for dinner reservations. Ok???!!!!!!

P.S. I'm only 14 and I love the Polynesian ALOT!! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

The Poly gives you a 3 hour pass for dining and that is it. After you have been there over the 3 hour limit they tow. I have seen it down a few times. Park at the the TTC and save the parking lot for the actual Poly guests.
