Parking lot trams

An average walk from any of the park's parking lots is about 1/4 + miles in Sahara like conditions. Asphalt temps are over 140 deg. F this time of year.
A walk out to our car at the end of the day at AK about did my whole family in on the last trip. It felt like 10 miles and we were all so hot and tired. I miss the trams so, so much and am considering uber'ing even though we'll have a car later this month.

It is on my list of absolute requirements. Since we'll drive to Disney, we will have a car and will drive to every park except MK.

Saaaaaaame. And as someone who can find joy in literally *EVERY BIT* of her Disney Vacay, the tram trip from the lot to the gate is the time we talk about what we're most excited for that day and pep talk our anxiety kid, and afterwards talk about what we enjoyed most/what was hardest. I'm sitting on 7 days of park hoppers for NEXT December after struggling between this year and next and the closer we get to this December the more I think it's better we chose next year. Even though my heart wants to go home SO BADLY.

I do the same thing!
My MIL is the type of person that looks for the dark cloud in every silver lining. DD takes after her and I actively work to avoid that. So when leaving anywhere I ask everyone about their favorite part of the day. When we are leaving and walking, we are too tired to think. Once we are in the car we are settled in and go into vegetable mode. So the tram is perfect.

eta: pre-lockdown, we were originally going with another family Jan 2021, but they completely cancelled. We postponed to Jan 2022 and I mourned for a bit. Now I am glad we postponed.

Trams are a waste of money and time.
Everyone says something like that until they become partially disabled. And you know what... that can happen in a split second.

I remember years ago I was dating a lady that didn't like theme parks because she had back issues that prevented her from standing and walking long distances and theme parks were my primary source of fun and enjoyment. I was also in therapy trying to cope with my relatively recent divorce. Anyway, I was discussing with my therapist the idea that I might break up with this lady because it meant that I couldn't go to my WDW, at least with her, because she couldn't keep up. The very next day I fell when I missed the bottom step of a stairway and landed on my knee on a concrete floor. In the process my kneecap was forced upward and severed my quad muscle completely taking a number of nerve endings with it. That was twelve years ago and I am still dealing with problems related to that and even more due to lower back stenosis issues.

The moral of the story is just because you are able to walk easily today doesn't mean that tomorrow will give you the same privilege.
