Last year, we stayed close and walked to the park each day.

This year, we are thinking of staying a little further and drive to park each day.

Can you help with some of my questions?

1. How is parking at DL? which parking lot is closer to the Entrance?
2. Is there a tram at each parking lot to take you to the Park entrance? If yes, how is the wait?

Thanks.

1. Doesn't matter unless you are going to walk.
2. The Mickey and Friends Garage serves people coming from the north. It will take at least about 20 minutes to get into the garage, pay, park, go to the TRAMS, take the tram to the parks. Because the Trams can get overloaded some people will make the 15 minute walk. The Mickey and Friends garage is on Disneyland Dr. Just off Ball Rd.

The Toy Story Lot is mostly for people coming from the south but I would recommend most people do use it anway. It has buses waiting and they load and go. To pull in pay, park and ride to the parks take at longest 15 minutes, and often under 10. It does not have the problem to wait for the shuttles or the shuttles getting full that the other parking areas do. The Toy Story Parking Lot is located on Harbor Blvd, south of Katella and across from Convention Way. You can purchase tickets and exchange ticket vouchers right in the parking lot where you get on the buses, if you are unlucky you would be second in line to do this because barely anyone does.

Ski has been very helpful, but I just wanted to say that more people are using the Toy Story lot to exchange their vouchers and buy tickets, when we were there just a couple weeks ago there was a HUGE line to do this. Just fyi. :)

Thanks for your replies. Guess staying close and walk will still work better.

We've always stayed offsite several miles away.

M&F garage has trams to take you to Downtown Disney. Even on very crowded days the wait isn't very long, 5-10 mins at most. The trams usually run every couple of minutes. If leaving the parks after closing the line for the trams to return to the garage can be long, about 15-20 minutes, otherwise no wait at all.

Toy Story lot is further away from the gates so they use buses to take you to the gates. Generally this is faster than using the M&F garage. However, on very crowded days we've had to wait 15 minutes in line for a bus. Lines for a return bus at closing aren't as bad as the M&F trams.

All in all, either parking area works just fine for us and is usually quick and easy.
