Parking lot CM's??

I think that can be done without being ignorant.

Yes, if someone is rude to you, it may warrant a bit of an attitude. But to be snappish and say things like "WHAT DO YOU WANT!" or "Well are you disabled?" or report that someone is "complaining" when infact they are just asking a question, that is just lack of control on the CM's part.

If somebody hates their job THAT much, it is time to find a new one.

One of my many jobs at WDW was in the parking lot...and yes you are definately allowed to be 'not as magical' as other CMs.

There are safety issues that come into play and frankly a lot of guests don't want to follow the rules. There is a specific way to park cars that helps minimize traffic back ups onto the feeder roads...this is crucial at peak times. One car doing it's own thing screws it up. They want to get cars parked fast. They want people to walk in certain areas so they aren't hit.

They don't want people jumping on and off trams.

I promise you, every parking lot CM has a stoy of some guest falling off their tram. They've all been hit by cars...screamed at, sweared at...SPIT at. Told off for trying to make someone go down to the end of a row.

Trams are 15 ton vehicles that can NOT stop on a dime. Each car has a seperate air braking system so it doesn't jacknife. There is no reverse.

Lot CMs are a great group, if you follow the rules. However, their formost job is to keep guests safe. While they try to do that as nicely as possible a lot of times people don't respond to nice suggestions.

Just yestersday when we were leaving the MK, as we walked back to the car there was a girl laying on the pavement who was either hit by a car or fell off the tram. Disney people were there and the medics were attending to her. She had a cut on her head and some serious road rash.

I find them the least content of the bunch--but when they deal with line cutters, people crossing the line...blah blah blah....

I think they have more to deal with in controlling guests than any other area. I think they do their best to remain pleasant--but safety is their #1 priority.

Thing of how pleasant you would be when you have to tell your 5yo for the 500th time to not do something.

I've never encountered a rude CM...now i have encountered them to be less than all sparkles and smiles when having to wrangle the masses.

IMO both the parking and bus driver Cm's have some of the toughest jobs. Because of that I give them a break and really enjoy it when they do their best to insert a little "magic".

We were on the bus back fromthe MK one evening after Wishes. As the driver took off he got on the radio.

..."for those standing, better luck next time"...

I have never encountered a surly parking CM, but have seen more than my fair share of either clueless or just plain rude guests who feel they can park wherever they please or disobey the attendants' orders. I wouldn't want that job if you paid me by the minute, and I can certainly understand if they aren't exactly swimming in pixie dust out there in the parking lot!

Besides the cuts, scrapes and road rash she seemed OK, she was alert and talking.
