I would bet my right arm this question has already been asked, so if anyone has a great thread to share it would be fantastic. But I am curious what the options are for parking in Port Canaveral and what anyone's experiences have been.

The Disney site speaks of the parking at the Port Canaveral Port Authority. It seems pretty cheap at $15 a day, works for me. Just want to know if it is safe. How far is it from the boat/terminal? Any information at all would be great. Thanks!!!!!

The parking information at DisneyCruise.com is now outdated. Port Canaveral has raised their parking rates:
Whether you park in one of our terminal lots or parking garages, the rate* for the following cruises are: 3-day, $60; 4-day, $75; 5-day, $90, and 7-day, $120 for vehicles up to 20 feet in length. For vehicles longer than 20 feet, the rates are $104, $130, $156 and $208 respectively.

Preferred Parking is offered at Cruise Terminal 8 and is located right next to the terminal, the rate is $20.00 more than the standard parking rates, regardless of cruise length.
*Rates are subject to change without notice. Contact the Canaveral Port Authority at 321-783-7831 for the latest information.

You may want to consider park-n-cruise. http://parkcruise.com/ We parked there last month. The price is $6.99 a day, so it is much cheaper than the terminal. It is about 5 minutes from the terminal. They suggest driving to the terminal and dropping your luggage off then coming back to park, but we didn't know that. They were more than happy to take our luggage over in the van with us.

When we got back, we called and they were there quickly to take us back.

It is a gravel lot, but it is surrounded by a fence. I think they said they could park over 300 cars in the lot, and it appeared pretty full.

They tell you where to park and you take your keys with you.

We were on the Magic for a 5 night, and at the time they were offering a dollar off if you had reservations. Our 5 nighs parking was around $37 instead of $90 at the terminal.

I been ina alot of cruises leaving fom port carnaveral i save a lot of money in parking at park and cruise check them out only 6.99 a day sometime they run a special for 4.99 http://parkcruise.com/

I'm another fan of park&cruise. We used them May 6th for a 4 day Dream cruise. In and out in 5 min tops. We felt our car was safe, in a clean, gated, security lot. They unloaded our car, loaded the bags in their van, hubby parked & we keept our keys, I paid, we were loaded in the van and at the port really fast. On the way back they had given us a card with a number to call for pick up but when we walked out of the port the van waiting. Five minutes later we were loading our car. Love this service and we will use them again when we cruise in March. I don't remember the exact total we paid but I think it was around $31.00 for parking.

Thank you very much! The Park and Cruise place sounds good, and just knowing others have had good experiences there is a big help. Anyone else park there?

Do you leave stuff in your vehicle? We're travelling from Newfoundland, Canada and will hae 6 days prior to the the cruise, and another 6 after the cruise. The 6 days prior will be spent in Orlando and I love the outlets. :) Even though we plan to travel light, I'm sure I'll be carrying extra 'stuff' with us. Is it safe to leave it in the vehicle for the duration of the cruise I wonder? There may be things I don't want to take on the cruise, but will need after the cruise. What to do?

Another fan of park n cruise. We parked there last year and had no issues. While we won't have a car for our September cruise, we plan on using them again next February.

We used Park 'n Cruise on 5/6 for a 4-night cruise. We did leave some stuff in the trunk of our car with no problems. I don't think I would leave anything of value out in plain sight in the car. The lot is fenced, lighted and video monitored.

We are taking our 8th cruise this summer and never even heard of Park and Cruise.

Thank you SO much for this valuable information. It just saved us $60! Think of all the things we can do with that extra money on the Fantasy!!! :cool1:

we used PnC a few weeks back. it is a gravel lot and you pull into the "hangar" and unload. then the guy points you to where you need to park. We immediately got on the shuttle and got delivered pretty quickly.

downside is after the cruise, there may be a large group waiting to be picked up. Our group was 9, so we needed a larger shuttle. I found the same guy that brought us over but he said he's a contractor and wasn't working with them that day. We found the larger shuttle for PnC (they are 888 Taxis) but it was full so the driver said he would come back next and pick us up. when he did, another family tried to get on that hadn't been there as long (they park where there is space, NOT in one certain area where you can have a line). The driver said they had to wait as he said he was pickuing us up. The lady was pissed. However we had been there already 20 minutes waiting.

In light of all this, the next time if it was a large group again, i'd consider parking at the terminal. If it was just a smaller group, I'd do a remote lot as its easier to get the smaller shuttles.

We had spent 2 days in Orlando prior to our trip and we left things in the back of our van. We didn't have any issues.

I could see where, as a pp mentioned, you might have to wait a few minutes for a shuttle, but if I can save $60 or more and only have to wait 15 or 20 minutes, that is more than I make an hour at my job. ;)

Their lot is nothing fancy, but it is close, cheap, and seems relatively secure. We plan on using them again when we sail from PC.

I was drawn to park n cruise for the price as well. Although much cheaper, we did run into an issue when leaving the ship....it was pouring. This said, we had to wait in the drop off area with our luggage in the rain, getting soaked, for approximately 45 minutes for the shuttle as there were 30 plus people waiting to go to the lot. Once we got back to the lot, we were dropped off in the center of the gravel parking lot (still pouring) with our luggage to fend for ourselves. By the time we got into our car, we and our luggage were soaked through. I realize this is not an everyday issue, but oncw was enough for me. I will pay extra to park at the port.

The only parking in PORT Canaveral is that operated by the Port Authority for $15 per day or part thereof. Note, this is per day, not per night of cruise--a 3 night cruise will cost $60 to park. There is also a "priority" area for a surcharge. This area is lighted and secure by both the parking security and the port security. The garage/lot is easy walking to the terminal.

In CAPE Canaveral/Cocoa Beach, there are many private extablishments that offer parking and a shuttle for $6.99 per night (sometimes less). In addition, there are hotels that offer park and stay rates. The private lots are generally lighted and fenced, but there is not usually a guard. The hotel sites are sometimes less secure--a big, open lot.

I make the distinction between Port and Cape Canaveral because people get frustrated when they google Port Canaveral and find no info with things like parking, hotels, and car rentals. These things exist in the community of Cape Canaveral.

$120 vs $55 = me trying park & cruise this time around. I can definitely use that extra money on the cruise. :thumbsup2

Thanks again for the info on this parking. Such a great rate!

They require online reservations, but we are renting a vehicle. I have no clue what the make and year will be for the vehicle. Anyone make a reservation in advance and then provide those vehicle details later?

Ha ha. I came back to this post to see if anyone knew about online reservations and needing to know the vehicle make and model. But I've already asked this question, I'll just repost. :) Thanks. :)

Another question - we plan on leaving our boys' booster seats in the car. What is the Park and Cruise shuttle like? Will they need carseats to ride in it? I guess if its a problem my husband can always drop me and the boys off at the port and park the car himeself.

THANKS so much for the parkandcruise.com info

Just made my ressie for December for $5.99 a day!!

If you plan on staying at a hotel the night before, consider the Best Western in Cocoa Beach. They have a 40% coupon towards the Port Canaveral parking deck. The rate is the same as the AAA rate (look for CRUISE rate).

Note there's also a Park and Cruise rate, but this is to park in the hotel and then use their shuttle. That rate is a rip off as you still need to pay the shuttle and it's higher than the AAA rate.
