Parking garage open time and other questions

Does anyone know what time the Mickey & Friends/Pixar Pals garages open for parking? Also, any advice on which exit to take from the north (coming from San Diego) in order to be able to park there? I used to have a route I took, but it has been a few years and I can't remember anymore. We prefer the garages as we like to stop at Downtown Disney on the way back to the car. We don't mind that the tram isn't running. Also, it looks as nothing is open before 8am at Downtown Disney, so I am guessing we should bring our own coffee or grab some on the way? Thanks for any assistance. We will be coming up on a Tuesday morning in August and can leave as early as necessary to beat the traffic (as our normal time zone is two hours ahead any way). Should we consider coming up extra early and eating someplace like Denny's, then going to park? Thanks so much for any feedback.

Hello. According to the official website, Mickey and Friends typically opens an hour prior to the earliest park opening. Since the earliest opening is at 8, I would assume Mickey and Friends will be open at 7 or so.
I usually come south bound. But from north bound, I think Harbor might be your best bet. Get off at Harbor, turn right onto Harbor and then turn left immediately at Ball Road at the left most lane. Then at the second light, left again onto Disneyland Dr and the parking structure ramp should be at the left hand side of Disneyland Drive.
Unfortunately, I can't help you about coffee or food other than go to Starbucks. Sorry.
