Parking fee & ticket activation question

Hi all,

Wasn't sure to post here or on Resorts Board. Moderator, feel free to move if necessary.

We are planning another trip for later this year. We will be traveling down for a total of 7 days/6 nights.

We are staying for free at an off sote hotel on our first and last night, and are NOT planning any Disney fun on these days. On our first day we will simply be arriving to the off site hotel having dinner locally, swimming at the pool, and sleeping.

My question pertains to our "Day 2" (the first day in the parks) and our Disney resort check-in day.

First, I have read on the Disney website that park parking is free for on site guests. If we wanted to be at Magic Kingdom by rope drop, what do we need to do to ensure that we will not be charged for parking?

Second, I have also read that our tickets will be good after check-in. Let's just assume that I use online check in 30 days out... will that still let me use my tickets to get in at rope drop even though I probably won't receive a text message until late that morning?

Also, unrelated question.

If we have a MVMCP ticket and an ADR at BOG for 4pm that day, will they let us in even earlier than 4pm to make the reservation?

No special consideration. However, it is not unusual for MVMCP guests to be allowed in about 3:45p or 3:50p. You will have a tight window, but your reservation will be honored if you are a few minutes late.

If you should be charged for parking on check-in day, keep your receipt and turn it in that day to your resort lobby personnel for credit or reimbursement. Your tickets should work at rope drop but if not, visit guest relations just outside the park gate. Show them your resort info and photo ID. You should then be good to go.

Ok, thanks! So, I don't need to make a special trip over to the resort lobby to request a parking pass?

Sometimes the turnstiles are enabled a little earlier than 4:00, but there's no guarantee it will happen on the day you will be there. Arrive around 3:30 so that you are near the front of the crowd waiting to enter. Once you have entered, you must get your wristband before heading to BOG.

From what I read from many posters here, but not officially from a Disney source, is your MagicBands should work at the toll booths on check-in day. But things aren't always 100% certain when they involve computers. So be prepared to pay and be reimbursed, tho this is a rare circumstance. Even if you didn't pre-register online, you would get reimbursed for parking on check-in day.

For your BoG ADR, be sure the ticket taker uses your party ticket for entry and not a regular park day ticket. There is one entry off to the side for guests entering with party tickets. But again, if a park day is used mistakenly, it can be straightened out at Guest Relations at any of the parks or at DTD Guest Relations. Disney will make you whole for what you paid for, even if you discover an error after your visit.
