Parking fee for non-guest temporary parking??

Hello! We leave on Friday for WDW! We are staying at a non-WDW hotel the first two nights of our trip then we stay at Boardwalk for the remainder of the trip. In the past we used to be able to park for free at Disney resorts if you showed your driver's license and it was only for a couple hours. Friday night after our flight gets in, my fiance and I wanted to see Yehaa Bob at POR but if they are really charging $25 for parking, it probably isn't worth it for just a couple hours. Can anyone confirm if they have indeed started charging resort parking for non-guests? Thanks!

What makes you think they are charging for parking at a resort? I've seen nothing that says they are

Sorry, I should have put this on the OP..

I saw a rumor on another facebook group a couple of weeks ago that WDW was going to start charging $25 for self parking, $50 for valet. Seems outrageous. As long as hotel guests are free, I'm fine with it.

think that is parking at the theme parks (plus $15 for closer parking).
that say if the resort is full (even if they have available parking) - they were closing the resort to anyone not staying there. but with restaurants wanting guess - you could just make a reservation at boatwright's dinning hall and be okay

You won't experience this at POR. Some of the deluxes that are close to the parks will require you to either valet or park at the theme park and take the bus back if the lot is full. Our friend had to park and pay for valet during food and wine one year when she was having dinner with us at Captain's Grill at the Yacht Club. Guest services refunded the valet once she had a receipt to show she indeed ate at the restaurant. We were told it was due to abuse of the parking lots during the festival.

We also were originally told to park at DHS and take the boat to the Boardwalk one year. When we pressed the guard to say we only wanted to go to the Boardwalk and walk around and not go to Flower and Garden he let us into a secondary lot and said we could only be there for 3 hours. Told us they mark the tires with chalk once an hour. No clue if it is remotely true or not but we were back in our care with in 2 hours and didn't look for chalk marks.

Such a huge difference between trying to park at Boardwalk for free, and parking at a Mod.
