Parking costs and is this possible....

Prepare yourself for the resort fee(s) at the Hilton. Parking to leave your car in parking at the Hilton is $14 per day. The fee is buried deeply in the Hotel policies section. If I remember right there was a resort fee on top of the parking. Most people will benefit by staying on property at a value resort.

Yes parking at hotel is $14.00/day and the resort fee is $20/day.

Luckily there are great offsite resorts that don't charge these fees. This on top of $5 for the shuttle is outrageous! :faint:

However I thought that the Lake Buena Vista location provided complimentary shuttle service. OP, which specific location is this?

I bet they are staying at Bonnet Creek, that's considered "near" Downtown Disney".

Seriously doubt this will happen. DTD is all about spending money. So if you want to go there and spend money they aren't going to make you pay to park.

OP ~ it is a 15 minute walk to Saratoga Springs from the Hilton (to the first bus stop) It may be an okay option in the morning.... but at the end of the day that will likely be a huge pain. Driving directly to the park and paying is really the best option.

i just read that they are going to charge for garage parking. but, if you return with a validated ticket, from a dtd restaurant, you get free parking.

Anyone know what they do if you have dining reservations? We have 8:15 res for chef mickeys and want to head to a park right after. Does someone need to move the car? I'm happy to pay the $15 to park I just don't want to waste time!

Pay $15 to valet park at the CR. Your car can stay all day. It's not cheaper (in fact since you should tip it'll be more expensive), but it will be less hassle than moving the car over to the TTC.

ETA: If some one in your group has a Handicap placard it's free to valet but you still need to tip.

I don't know what else to say. For those who didn't choose Disney resorts, it's difficult-to-impossible to get an unearned Disney parking benefit.

There is potentially one other option for your offsite guests to consider, but it probably won't lead to a discount.

If they desire, they could convert one of their regular park ticket to an Annual pass. If you just have like five day non hopper expiring tickets it would probably not be worth doing. But if you have ten day hoppers, then getting at least one annual pass would very much make sense.

A ten day hopper ticket is like $414, parking times ten is $150. (so added together is $564) An AP is $675 (first time).

If your friends at all think they MIGHT come back next year, and could come back ONE WEEK earlier than they came this year- then an annual pass could be a great way to save a few $. Consider TWO ten day hoppers (At current prices) alone would be $828. Plus an annual pass means you can likely get other discounts. Annual passes give you small (usually 10%) discounts off some food and merchandise.

Another perk of annual passes is free parking at the parks.

Parking at resorts when you aren't there to eat (or sleep) is a bad idea. It is a particularly bad idea at the MK and Epcot area resorts.

Getting ones' car towed while on vacation would REALLY bite!

This is good to know. IS it true at all the resorts? Do you have to have a reservation to park there? Just wondering because I'd tip handily to not have it take an hour to get from the car to the gates. :thumbsup2

All resorts with valet will park for free with a placard. We were staying onsite so we knew to do it at BC, but we were told that we could go to any valet resort and park, we just need to tell the guard at the gate. When you get to gate you can tell them that you are going to valet and if it's full they'll let you know or if they have room they'll send you up. I think we only actually used it at one other resort, which was the Poly, and we did actually have an ADR, but I don't think they asked they just sent us to valet.

Just make sure if it's at your home resort that they do not accidently put it on your room tab.

Since we were free we tipped a little more than we would have normally.

Oh just realized you might have just meant parking in valet. No you don't need an ADR, just tell them you want to valet. If there is room they let you in. You're paying either way so Disney doesn't care. The only time you might have problems is during OCT, the Epcot area resorts are a madhouse and they often close parking/valet due to capacity.

I can see it now,,,People parking in the garage, using busses to get to parks, using busses to return to garage, going to eat at a DTD restaurant, all to save $15?? Makes sense to me. NOT!!!!

But, I believe it would be time stamped. But, I have never seen the value in parking at DTD and going to a park to begin with. My time is much more valuable than that.
