Parking at TTC

Good morning! We’ll be at WDW in May after a five year hiatus and will have our car. I’m now starting from scratch since things have changed so much since our last visit. I wanted to ask this question as I couldn’t find a definitive answer online.

For a 9:00 am park opening, if we park at the TTC and take the monorail to MK, would we get there in time for rope drop? I’ve seen varying times online for when the TTC opens and I don’t want to miss rope drop. I remember during our last trip, the TTC didn’t open early enough to make it on time.

For us personally, we prefer to drive and park at the parks, so MK is the only variable right now. We’ll be at POFQ for the first few nights of our trip and then we’re moving to Boulder Ridge, so we’ll take the boat over to MK once we’re there.

Thanks in advance for your help!

If I recall correctly, the TTC transportation to MK options start 1/2 to 1 hour before park opening.

How else could guests make rope drop to MK from TTC if they didn't accommodate them?

You may wish to read the Everything Early theme Park Entry thread as there is a lot of helpful information in post 1. It is recommended you arrive at the MK parking booths at least 75 mins before ETPE begins.

Most find taking Disney transportation to be easier than driving to MK but, it’s a personal choice.

Thank you! I completely understand. It’s definitely a personal choice. We visited WDW annually for 15 years until 2020, and driving/parking is what always worked best for us. I appreciate the reply.

Thanks! I just remember our last year visiting that the monorail would not have gotten us there on time. I don’t remember which park, though. Anyway, thanks!

Some years ago, when Magic Kingdom opened early for resort guests, the first express monorail and the first ferry from Transportation & Ticket Center were timed to arrive at MK 15 minutes before public opening.

We recently went on a Saturday when the park opened a 8:00 (early entry at 7:30). We arrived at the toll plaza at 7:20 and there were already perhaps a hundred cars parked when we reached the lot, so it must have been opened for at least 15-30 minutes. We missed a ferry and took the next one, and got to the turnstiles at 7:50.

We were just at the MK with a car in early April. On a day with a 9:00am opening and 8:30 early entry we arrived at 7:30. Were parked midway down in the first row of general parking. We walked to security and went right through. There is has not been a time in the past three years that the monorail has been running to the parks at this time. So the only option is the ferry. That typically begins at 8:00. After crossing Bay lake, as we were walking to the turn styles, they opened. I don't think there is a way to get to the MK any faster without the Monorail. If the ferry is running late or they wait to really fill it up, you can definitely get to the MK after rope drop which is super frustrating.
