Parking at the Value Resorts

We're staying at POP next week - driving from Atlanta.

How does parking and unloading of luggage work? Do we park and then check in and then go back for luggage? Or do we bring our luggage with us when checking in? Are there luggage carts readily available? A special place for unloading?

When we arrive goodvibes) we always park our car in the front parking area near the entrance (the area near all the bus stops)...we leave all our luggage in the car - We check in at the front desk, find out what area/building we are in..then drive over to that section...then we bring our bags up to the room. You could definately bring your luggage in when you check in...then roll them through the resort - but depending on where your room is located it may be quicker and easier to drive.

We drive down and stay at POP several times a year. We park in the check-in parking area and check in. We then go to our room and check it out. Depending on where the room is and how far from parking and if it is raining (we have a convertible so it is easier to unpack the backseat when the top is down), we either park in the appropriate lot and take our luggage up ourselves or we drive to the Bell services area (under the covered area next to guest relations) and let bell services bring up our luggage while hubby parks the car in the lot closest to our room.

We usually stay at either ASMo or Music, and we always do the easy way, which has already been mentioned (check in then drive to your assigned section and then unload your luggage). I have always found checking in/parking/unloading to be a very easy process at every Value resort I have stayed at. Of course it IS Disney!

Hi HappyGal. We've stayed at POP 3 times and we do just like chocovrdmicears and cruisingKat said. Sometimes there will be luggage carts available and sometimes not. We've usually been able to park close enough that it wasn't a real problem either way.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I was under the impression that the luggage carts were for the Bell Staff only, and if you asked to "borrow" one, you would be turned down.

When we check in (POR), we drop off our luggage at the front entry, to a Bellman. Then we park the car close by and check-in. The Bellman will send our luggage to our room ($1 or more/bag tip -- up to you). I have seen guests getting a ride to their room on those little electric utility carts, I think they're called Pargos, along with their luggage. As I say, this is at POR.

Nope, at Pop you can borrow a luggage cart. I've walked to Luggage Assistence, asked for one, been given one, and taken it back to my room, loaded it up and returned it to Luggage Assistence, so they could move the luggage to the next resort. Now, that may have changed but it was the case a few years ago.
Moderate resorts are going to be different. They actually have efficient luggage service!!!!

Thanks for the info. I haven't stayed Value, always POR. I was thinking of going to POP next time, to try it out. Gas is higher and I drive from WV, not to mention food, tickets and souvenirs, too.
