We are going to WDW next month with friends of ours. We are staying at the Boardwalk for most of the trip. OUr friends are outside the park. We are meeting over at the Contemporary for dinner at Chef Mickey's before MVMCP.
I will just walk over to Epcot from the BWVs and take the monorail over but our friends will be driving and meeting us there.

Can they leave their car at the Contemporary after dinner and take the monorail to MK with us for the party? What info do they need to get into the Contemp parking lot for dinner? Is there a time limit to how long they can stay parked there? If they can't stay at the Contemp past dinner, does the party ticket include parking at MK?

TIA. She asked me these questions and since I have never stayed off site I just don't have the answers!

I do believe you can park at the CR for a dinner reservation. However, you will probably be given a parking pass only for long enough to eat dinner, and not long enough to go into MK. If the CR lot is not crowded, they might let it go, but I wouldn't expect it to not be crowded during MVMCP.

Whenever I've parked at resorts for ADR's, I've only ever needed to give the name on the ADR. However, it wouldn't hurt to also have the confirmation number handy.

I have MNSSHP tickets for next week, and there's nothing stated on them about parking, so I would assume MVMCP tickets also would not get you parking.

I would just have your friends park at the TTC (it will cost $$), then ferry or monorail to MK, then walk over to CR (this is faster, IMO, than taking the resort monorail all the way around to CR from TTC) for dinner. That way, when dinner and MVMCP are over, their car will be at the TTC, and no one has to worry about possibly being towed.

Grimley is correct, no park access from the Contemporary except for guests staying there. And correct that on nights such as the party they are ever more vigilant in enforcing the policy. The parking pass for dinner will be 3 hours.

Your party ticket does not include parking therefore they will need to pay for parking them come meet you at the Contemporary.

Also I am sure you know this but to use the monorail from Epcot over to the Contemporary you will have to use a ticket other than your party ticket to get there.

Yes. WE have park hoppers and will spend the morning at AK so getting through Epcot is going to OK for us. It's our friends that need help.

Thank you sooo much for the info. I think the best option then is for them to drive to MK, pay for parking and take the monorail over to the Contemporary for dinner, then back with us to MK? Does that sound like the best way? That way when they want to leave the party they can just head out to the parking lot? I am so confused!
See another reason why I always stay onsite!

Oh shoot. I just re-read that. Do you mean they can't use the monorail at all? By "no park access from the Contemporary" do you mean they just can't park at that hotel and hop over to the park after dinner or do you mean they can't do it at all even if they park at MK first?
HELP!

Monorail is fine. Just have them drive to the MK, park and monorail over to the Contemporary and meet you for dinner.

They do not provide parking for non resort guests to access parks from the resort. They could park for dinner but then they would have to move after dinner. It will be much simpler for them to park before dinner, monorail over and meet you, then after dinner you can all either walk to the MK, very quick or monorail, much slower.

As you said that way if they need or want to leave before you, they have their car waiting for them in the parking lot.

Enjoy the party. :thumbsup2

Yes, they could monorail all the way from TTC to CR, but that would be an almost 360-degree trip around the resort monorail loop, and can be quite time-consuming.

The quicker way, IMO, would be to take the TTC to MK direct monorail or ferry to MK, then walk to CR from MK.

And anyone can ride the monorails, since they do not let you off inside the MK or EPCOT, only in front of them.

WHEW! Got it! It's good to have a group of people that speak Disney. Most people I know would have read this thread and passed out from confusion.

Thank you sooo much!

True, good point. :thumbsup2

Last December and previous years during that month on nights when MVMCP would be going on, the Contemporary was very strict with parking. Just after you pass the lights to either turn right to the Wilderness Lodge or left to the Polynesian, there was WDW security stoping every car and checking for Resort parking passes and KTTW cards. I also saw them telling other guests to turn around. Finally at the Contemporary they had a sign which said "Due to the events at the Magic Kingdom, we can not provide parking for those guests." I know the OP already has the correct answer about this, however I thought since I have been threw this process on those nights so many time that I should say they are strict on MVMCP nights, even though nothing is taking place at the Contemporary.
