Parking at the Contemporary for MK

We stayed at the GF for two weeks last October and could never find a place to park in the car park. I couldn't believe that we have paid so much to stay at a hotel (that has so much space and land around it) and then could never park.

Coming back from a long day at the theme park and driving around for 20 mins trying to find somewhere to park is not my idea of fun.

GF's self park is key gated and quite a distance from the hotel. I don't think as many people park there to go to MK, it's more at the Contemporary and the Poly (and Boardwalk for Epcot). I wonder if employee's use GF's self park. GF should give hotel guests free valet.

Where does the bus drop you off at MK? And is it hard to catch a bus at the end of the night for OKW? I've seen loaded buses for All Star. Is it like stampede mentallity to get on the bus after the parks close?

If you have seen the All Star buses, then you were in the right place for the OKW buses too.

The diffference is that they All Star buses go to all three resorts, so there are way more people going back after park closings than to even a place as big as OKW. There are lines and you might have to wait for one bus to fill and then catch the next one, but even in busy July when I rode the OWK buses, I had no problems getting on the first one.

I thought each All Star had their own bus.

I've had to wait for 2 busses to fill to get on one for OKW at MK closing (after fireworks). They run more often at closing, like every 5 or 10 minutes. They also have a dispatcher that directs the busses where to go.

You can get in the GF lot without a key. I have when eating there. I seem to recall just pushing the button and getting a guy to open the gate.

I appreciate all your comments.

We won't be able to take Disney transport from our hotel, because we are spending our first night off-site and coming to Chef Mickey's from there. We will check into BWV right after we leave the MK. We'd have to be at the Boardwalk about 5:30 am (with an 8 month old and a two year old!) in order to check in and then take Disney transport to Chef Mickey's!

I really do think it will take a long time to move the car after breakfast - walk to the car from Chef Mickey's, drive to the MK lot, take the tram to the TTC, ride the monorail to the MK, try to find the rest of the group. If this were a normal time of year I wouldn't be worried, but this is the week before EASTER. :sad2:

Does Disney tow????

Yes they tow at certain times of the year when the resorts are full.

That is definitely a far lot to walk from. We just had to press the buzzer and they lifted the gate. No questions. We parked there to eat at GF.
