For some reason, I thought that parking at SSR was right at each unit. Now I have read some posts where people said they had a long walk to their car.
How is the parking set up?
Thanks and have a great day! :)

Each building has it's own "lot". Not exactly like OKW where you can park right in front of your own individual unit. When we stayed at SSR we had the Paddock building and always got a space in that unit's parking lot.

Parking is directly in front of each building. The only time one might encounter a "long walk" is if they are in a corner unit and parked at the opposite corner of the lot. But even then it's all relative.

OKW has parking outside each building but the buildings are smaller and so are the lots. In some cases you may be parking in the lot next to your building or across the street because your lot is full.

NOTE: I did notice Congress Park tends to have larger landscaped courtyards at the entrances so that can add a bit more distance between te lots and units.

We stayed in Congress Park and had just a short walk from the elevator to our car. However when we arrived to check in the lot in front of the main building was completely full (people were actually double parking). We had to park in the lot at the next set of buildings. It was a bit of a hike but not unmanagable and I think you would only have to do that if they were extremely busy.

Compared to other DVC resorts, SSR & OKW parking is virtually outside your unit. The buildings are landscaped with the parking lot next to them. Most of the lots are only a drive path with parking on both sides of the driveway, they are not huge lots. Although we have not stayed at the Springs, it looked like the lot was bigger and centrally located between the buildings. Grandstand lot was somewhat like that as well. Paddocks and Carousel lots were smaller. Did not see Congress Park's.

We stayed in the Paddock and always managed to get a spot right in front near the elevators(and this was during president's week). I could see if you had a room that around back it would be a "long" walk. Even the longest walk at SSR is nothing compared to the one we had at VWL.:thumbsup2

This should give you some idea of how close you park to the buildings - for some reason I don't seem to have any pics taken in the daytime and the quality of this one isn't great... Still, better than nothing. :)

Hope that helps,

Thanks everyone. As usual, you are all so helpful! :)

Here is another nighttime picture- don't know what I did with the day time one but must have deleted it. This was in CP. We had a room overlooking the bus stop and parking lot.
