Parking at resort to ride monorail to EPCOT or MK

First if you are a Disney resort hotel guest, you don't pay to park at any theme park. Second, once you pay for valet parking you can use any valet parking at any deluxe resort during the same 'day".

So in your example you can leave the Contemporary valet, return to your hotel for a midday swim and then use valet parking at any deluxe resort when you return to a nearby theme park. Just need to keep your valet receipt to show for the remainder of the day.

But you'll be tipping the valet parker each time you move to another resort. Plus, there are times when you won't be permitted to valet park unless you are a guest of the resort. I've seen that happen at the Contemporary and guests in cars were turned away.

First, many people driving to the parks are not resort guests, which is why they're driving. Unless they have APs or DVC membership, they're paying to park.

Second, other than avoiding the TTC when going to MK, parking at a hotel seems less efficient than using the regular parking lot. I suppose you could park at Boardwalk or Beach Club for Epcot and Hollywood Studios, but I don't see those options as being easier (though the walk to DHS might be a toss up at the moment with the construction). There aren't any hotels in walking distance to AK, so parking at AKL would mean taking bus to AK, which seems more inconvenient than taking the ferry or monorail from the TTC to MK.

The reason they are parking at the hotels rather than the theme park parking lots is to avoid paying the parking fee. There is no daytime parking fee at the resorts, just overnight parking fees. Inconvenience beats paying $25 a day any time to some people.

I was replying to PP who suggested using valet parking at a monorail hotel, and just continuing to use valet for no additional fee that day at other parks with the valet receipt. It doesn't make sense to me that those people would pay a premium for the convenience of forgoing the TTC, but then they'd inconvenience themselves to valet park at resorts to go to other parks.

People who park at free locations like Disney Springs or resorts are obviously willing to put up with hassle to avoid a parking fee, but those are a different kind of guests from those who choose valet parking at the Contemporary.
