Parking at Port Canaveral

We are cruising on the Dream in September. Can I buy the parking in advance online? And, are all the lots walking distance to the ship or do I need to request a certain one? Also, any safer areas, ie, wider spots for new car? Thank you!

Yes, you can pay for the terminal parking online. Search Port Canaveral Parking and you'll find it with all the info you need. Did that just last week for our cruise next week. Be sure to print out a copy with your Confirmation # and give it to the attendant outside the garage. Very short walk to the ship just across the street.

In all the times I've parked there , never saw any extra wide spots. However, I would suggest you just park higher up where there may be less
cars. Most folks try to park the lower levels closest to where they cross over to the ship, etc.

Upper levels of the parking structure have less vehicles. We always go straight to level 3 and above before we even start looking for a space.

We have found the parking to be very convenient and haven't noticed any issues with neighboring cars.

You can drop off your luggage and family right at the door and then go park. Close walk. You will walk much further on the ship everywhere you go. I have heard you can prepay. Rather expensive to park there but they gotcha. Not many other choices. As for the car I don't worry about it. I have two newer cars and spend zero time thinking about someone scratching it. If I worried about it I wouldn't of bought it.

They charge by the day so it would be 8 days@$16/day.

I don't find it really saves to pay in advance. You still wait behind other cars, but we've never waited more than a few minutes. Your cc takes about a second or two and you're gone. We generally get there around 10:00 and park higher up.

I know that some people like to prepay for their parking for budget reasons. I personally would rather just pay at the port, this way in case my plans change, and can't make it for whatever reason, requesting a refund won't be on my list of things to do.

There also is a premium lot that you can pay additional for. It is closer to the terminal, but is uncovered. I wouldn't spend the money on it personally, because if it is raining, you'll get wet as you load your car up, plus who wants their car to bake in the hot Florida sun?

We use the preferred lot which is a bit more for the week but a bit easier to maneuver. We live in Florida, so we are used to our car baking in the Florida sun And rain is just a part of Florida life anyway.
We never pay in advance though, just tell the first guard gate that we are parking in preferred and then go from there. We find that when we return to port and are off the ship at 8 or 9 that it is not hot enough yet to worry about and the air conditioner works really fast.
