Parking at Port Canaveral

Is parking at port Canaveral covered, like a parking garage? Or is it open like a grocery store parking lot? Just trying to decide if I need to purchase a sunshade for my car since we will be driving into port. Thanks in advance.

Both. Mainly it's a structure, but there are open parking spaces close into the terminal and at the side of the structure:

The preferred parking lot which is right beside the building, is not covered. The covered parking lot is just across the street and attached to the building by an elevated covered breezeway between the two. have a great cruise.

That seems strange to me, that Preferred Parking is the uncovered parking, LOL!

Yes. Parking at the port is based on length of cruise. And the preferred uncovered parking has an extra charge.
