We are eating at OHana's on Friday night and were wondering how long we can park at Poly. We are thinking about going to Magic Kingdom for a short while. Will they give me a ticket if I exceed the time limit? thanks.

Be careful bringing up this subject. People have very strong feelings about others coming into the resorts and taking up parking spaces that are reserved for guests and using the resort transportation. It is not only against Disney policy but they can and have towed cars when they have acceded the 3 hour time limit. I have seen the guys patrolling the parking lot on bikes before and I know one person who was towed that was visiting a resort guests and decided to stick around and use the pool.

I can say I am not happy when I return to the resort and find I have to park in the back or other lot. The Polynesian parking lot is not as big as many of the resorts so it can fill up fast.

When I stayed at the Poly I was in Rapa Nui, so I parked way in the back and there was always space for me. So, I don't know about the Poly. However, I can tell you that I saw people getting towed from the Wedding Pavilion parking lot. While I was taking my pictures, three trucks came and took away three cars. Is this something new?? Since there is no security gate, people think it's easier to park there? I don't know, but I have seen them towed there and at the Contemporary (where I stayed prior to my wedding). The GF lot is too far away to notice and, like I said, I was in Rapa Nui at the Poly and the lot is far from the main lot, so I couldn't see, but I'm assuming that if it's happening at the Pavilion and Contemporary it's a real possibility at other resorts. If you're willing to risk coming back to find your car gone, more power to you, but personally, I'd be worrying the entire time. It's only 5 minutes to Poly from TTC. Having your night ruined by worry or worse, the car actually being towed, just isn't worth it for 5 minutes.

'Ohana is a really great place....I had my rehearsal dinner there....try everything they serve, even if you don't think you'll like it!

:D

If you are going to the MK after dinner, isn't it just as easy to park at the TTC and then walk or take the resort monorail to the Poly for dinner? No worries about timing then!

If you're running late for dinner, you might consider using the valet parking service at the Poly ($6 plus tip). As far as I know, there is no time limit if you use the valet service.

Enjoy your trip!
