If you're staying onsite, forget the car.....take Disney transportation to the parks. Heck, that's one of the best things about staying onsite. Lock the car and forget it!
Even when onsite we always have a rental car. For us there's nothing like not having to wait for a crowded bus. Just personal preference though. If we have boat service (or if we were at a monorail resort) we'd use the Disney transportation. Parking is free. I know we used our Dolphin room key on our last trip. I didn't have a parking pass.
