We are flying out of Logan Airport in October. We don't know where to park. We will need parking for 9 nights. Could someone with experience give me some advice. Where to park, price. We would consider other options if they are less expensive (ie shuttle, offsite parking) Any help is appreciated.

We have used the Economy lots at Logan in the past. It is a little convoluted finding them, but they are pretty cheap when compared to the main garage parking. I think it was about $100 for over a week's parking. They do have shuttle buses that run pretty frequently. We do not use these lots if there is any chance of snow tho. Dh really doesn't feel like shoveling out the car after being in Florida.

I see that you are from Vermont so there will be a drive involved getting to Logan for your flight. Our strategy is this....we live on Cape Cod so the drive is about 1 1/2 hours depending on the traffic (read stress!!).We usually book an early am flight, drive to the Holiday Inn, stay overnight and take the shuttle from HI to Logan. The Park and Fly rate varies from $149 to $189 for the night and includes 10 days of free parking. It allows us a very stress free way to leave our car and also save some money. It costs $22 daily at Logan. The off site parking rates are cheaper than that but this works so well for us ( we have tried many different scenarios) that this is our #1 choice now. ::MinnieMo

Me too! We've stayed at the Holiday Inn Logan several times with the Park and fly option. We've paid between $149 and $200. This year because we would be staying there Thanksgiving night the rate was over $200 so for the first time we'll staying down the street at the Hampton Inn for a much better rate of $179.

If our flight doesn't leave in the early am, then we just park at the airport's central parking even though it's $22. a day because of the convenience.

Coming from Vermont, I'd recommend one of the Park & Fly hotels, or better yet, the very efficient and easy to use Logan Express service. From VT, you best bet would be Woburn, just at the I93/ 128 junction. Using Logan Express, you park, board the bus and you're off to your gate 20 miles away (no messing with driving in Boston and Revere, which is intimidating even for many locals). The Logan Express busses are very frequent.

Good luck!

Thanks for your ideas. We are flying out on a Friday at 5:10pm so we are hoping the kids will do at least a 1/2 day of school before we leave. We are flying back in on a Sunday in the early evening so the hotel park/sleep services will not work for us. We have considered using a shuttle service from our area, but they charge for adults and children so the fare for the 5 of us is more than paying to park at Logan. We are considering doing a one way car rental for each leg if they price is cheap enough. Otherwise we will probably do as many have suggested and park in Woburn and take the Logan shuttle. Does anyone know how early we need to check in for our flight? Just trying to figure out what time we need to leave VT to make our flight.

Thanks again
Deb
