Parking at JFK

We live in NJ and prefer to fly out of Newark, because we can get a family member to drop us off and pick us up-but no go for JFK because of our flight times.
JetBlue only flies out of NY, so we have booked them #1 for price #2 for TVs that will keep the kidlets occupied.

For those of you that park-do you park in JFKs long term parking or offsite..or are there any hotels nearby that have the stay one night and park for the week option?

We've used the Avistar parking lot at JFK and were very happy with it. They are right off the Belt Parkway and they have a shuttle to the terminal. You can get a nice discount if you have AAA. Check out http://www.avistarparking.com

Avistar is great. They will take you to JFK, call the 800#when you return and they will bring you back to your car.

Depending on how long your trip is, you may want to consider what we do when we use the city airports. We rent a car locally for a day and drop it off at the airport. We do the reverse when we return.

Just another option when trying to avoid those $$$$$$ parking fees. In comparison, our local airport is $5.00 a day for long term parking, but it's almost impossible to catch a decent airfare.
