We are staying at CBR, but will be going to GF for a breakfast ADR. Will we be able to park there for free with our CBR parking pass?

There are no charges to park at a resort for an ADR unless you choose valet parking. The MK resorts will often give you a limited 3-hour parking pass to stop you from going to the park after your meal. The hassle with GF is that the self-park is across the street from the resort.

This question is coming up every week lately. You don't get to park there all day. The resort parking is for those who have paid the bucks to stay there. If you are eating there, then that's fine but please move your car to the TTC when you go to the MK. I have seen customers staying at the GF who can't find a place but it is full of the other resort customers. Many times you are limited to a 3 hr. pass which is plenty of time for a meal. Just sayin'.

A CBR parking pass is for the CBR! Simple as that! And to get you into the theme park lots if you are not taking the buses.

The GF self parking is a PITA. One of the worse self parking lots. It's across the street from the GF behind the trees. I remember parking there a few times and trying to find a spot. Since we are TiW cardholders, this is one place that we always use valet at now, unless we're staying at BLT, then we use the monorail.

Thanks for the info. How much does valet run?

Thanks, maybe we will park at MK and take the monorail or the ferryboat over to GF. Do you know if the ferryboat is restricted to GF guests? If we are going over for an ADR can we take the ferry? (I'm thinking this would be neat for the kids)

The Mk's parking lot is next to the TTC where you catch either a ferry or monorail to the MK.

You could take the large ferry over to the MK and then the GF's smaller boat, but its just easier to take the resort monorail to the GF from the TTC.

And anyone can take WDW transportation to anywhere.

Yes, anyone can use the boats that run between the MK and the MK resorts. You don't even need to have an ADR.

FWIW, I think it would take a long time to take the monorail or ferry to the MK and then the boat to the GF.

Are you planning to go to the MK that day? If so, I'd take the bus from CBR to the MK and then the boat to the GF. After breakfast, I'd take the monorail to the MK. (I'm not a fan of the TTC and strongly prefer the bus transportation to the MK. At least ytou are only waiting once. If you drive to the TTC, you wait for the tram, then wait for either then ferry or the monorail. Not so bad when you are all excited about your day, but when you are tired and leaving with the crowds, it is not at all fun)!

I agree with the others. Self-parking at the GF is not at all convenient. If you plan to drive to the GF for your ADR, seriously consider the valet option. Then finding a spot for your car is someone else's problem, LOL. And no 3 hour parking pass, either (unless there is something very special going on that day).

P.S. If you drive and park at the TTC, take the resort monorail to the GF to get to breakfast. It willb e faster. You can take the ferry to the MK after breakfast if you are going to the MK for a while, or if the kids just want a ride on the boat. From the MK, you can either take the monorail or ferry boat to get back to the TTC (which of course, you already know). :teeth:

I wouldn't drive at all. I would take the bus to MK and then take the boat to GF.

Park at the TTC (no cost since you're staying onsite), then take the resort monorail to GF, eat breakfast, and then go on with your day...either at MK or some other spot.

$12/day.

Self Parking at GF, as PP stated, is the worst. I hate it! As long as we aren't running late we will park at TTC and monorail it. So much easier (maybe that's their plan?)

Once or twice we were running late and used the valet but it wasn't $12 then. I think it was about $6. Valet used to be so much nicer than it is now.

Absolutely.

I would valet for breakfast, and head to the MK afterwards. Check at the valet stand if they are busy that day; if they are, you may need to move your car first. You can't self park at the resort and go to the theme park. But, if you valet park, the valets will park your car in a way that minimizes any disruption to guests of the resort who wish to self-park. The $12 plus tips is well worth it IMO.

Don't forget if your not staying at the Grand Floridian and want to park in their self parking lot you then need to push a button that opens the gate to it's entrance, because those who stay there insert a KTTW card from the Grand Floridian for it to open.

Yes, I remember. It was very confusing. Since we've been TiW cardholders (6 years now) we have avoided the GF self parking lot.

If you don't want to pay for valet parking, I do not recommend trying to park at GF. GF has THE worst self-parking lot on property. It's across the street from the resort, and at least half of it is cast parking, so there are not a lot of spaces available for guests. If you must park there, drop off the rest of the party at the hotel if you can.
