We're going to be in Orlando for a convention and while we're (sniff sniff, sob) not going into the parks we know we have to at least get a little pixie dust on us!

We'll be staying off site.

I am considering doing the GF Afternoon Tea. I know you can't park at GF and hop on the Monorail to the park, thus not paying the parking fee, but my feeble brain can't recall how we go about parking there just for a meal....is there a charge or do we have to bring out our receipt or prove we have an ADR. Ack....I can't recall how it works.

You may drive to the GF and tell them you are having tea. It has been my experience in doing the very same thing they do not make you pay to park unless you valet the car. Pull up to the guard gate and tell them you have a reservation for tea. All should work out just fine :) but have your ADR just i case though I have never been asked for it at any resort when parking for a meal.

You are allowed to park at a resort For up to 3 hours I believe for Dining reservations and sightseeing.Just inform the Security guard at the gate and he will issue you a pass for 3 hrs. :surfweb:

Give yourself plenty of time to get there. The free parking for people dining at GF is actually across the street.

Yes, just remember you will need to park across the street, and the lot is very small so you may be spending some time looking for a parking space. Be forewarned.

And make sure you have advance reservations for tea. The venue is small and can be very popular. I once went as a walk up knowing I might have a long wait. And I did. I was glad I wasn't hungry enough to be uncomfortable and had a book with me. I waited an hour.

Thank you, yes I already have the 180 days calendared (2 1/2 weeks to wait), lol. We're hoping to get a later reservation so that it can be "dinner" for us. It's always way more filling than most people think it would be!

Thank you for the reminders that the parking is across the street, I'd forgotten that as well. The only time I can recall driving to GF was when we did the "tour of the holiday decorations", lol...we drove to about half of the resorts and checked out their decor but the details of things like parking and how long and where all blends together, lol.
