If I am attending breakfast at 1900 Park Fare can I leave my vehicle at GF and take the monorail over to MK for the day?

Someone else will probably confirm this, but I think you have a time limit you can park at GF for while there for dining.

Valet parking costs $7 per day; this money goes to the Resort, NOT to the Valets - so yes, tipping is expected. All told, it's cheaper to park in the Magic Kingdom parking lot and take the monorail to the Grand Floridian and then to the MK, especially if you're staying onsite - since parking is free in the park lots.

Are valets paid a less then minimum wage like servers?

You can self park and do this also. But be prepared it is quite a walk.
The only resort that I had a time limit at was the Polynesian. Went for breakfast and had parking tag valid until noon.

Vallet is *such* a luxury, IMO. But I thought the cost was now $10? And also now more than $7 at the park parking lots??? :confused3

You have it sort of backwards. The major park toll plazas are $9.00 for a car if you are stayiing off-property and do not have an AP. Valet parking at the deluxe resorts is $7.00 plus, as indicated above, tips for the valets.

Why the he** do they charge more for their crappy parking lot (even USF seemed to be more comfortable) than they do for the luxury of valet at the GF?Someone must be asleep at the wheel on this one! :rolleyes1 :confused3

Supply and demand?

If you are a DVC member then is the valet parking free or is this one of the excluded resorts for that benefit?

Only free for DVC members at DVC resorts.

To my knowledge there are only three ways that you can get the valet parking without having to pay for it.

1. Have a disabled plate or hang tag on your car.

2. Be a member of DDE and going to a restaurant in that resort for dinner (have to show both receipt and card)

3. Be dining at V&A.

Also, remember that the valets are a tip position and get less than normal minimum wage and they do not get any part of the fee collected.
