Parking at Epcot?

It looks like my DDE card is not going to arrive in time for my Friday trip and I will need to pick up my temporary card at Epcot before heading over to have lunch at MGM. If I am just going to Guest Relations, do I have any parking options besides the normal parking that at that time of day will involve the tram (or a bit of a walk)? I would hate to waste that much time the first day. Is there a way to get closer to the gates for very short term parking?

Are you by yourself? If not, I would drive up to the front like you were doing a guest pick up and send someone off to get the pass while you stay with the car (or vice versa depending on whose name is on the card)

If not, just ask the parking attendant I bet they can send you up front where there are always empty spaces as folks leave.
