Parking at Contemporary for the lounge?

I'll be heading down at the beginning of October and my flight gets in at 6pm. I'd like to go to the California Grill lounge that evening but don't want to go to Pop (where I'm staying) and then take a bus to MK and then over to the contemporary. I'll have a car and I know that if you have an ADR you can park at a resort but will they let you park if you don't have an ADR and still plan to go to a lounge? I'd much rather drive straight there from the airport. I don't want to try to get an ADR because I want my time to be flexible that night. Thanks!

Generally, Contemporary are pretty strict about parking. You may not be allowed to park without valet or going to the TTC, especially that part of October -- there's a huge convention that's got most of Garden Wing booked.

Do you happen to know how long you can park there if you have an ADR?

I know they are strict at most of the resorts for parking if you aren't staying there. I have never had a problem parking at Contemporary when we have reservatins at California Grill. I haven't had any grief about how long we were parked there. Maybe we've just been lucky? Not sure if having the TIW card helps since we valet park.

Would you consider parking at Pop and using Uber or Lyft? If you're going to the lounge it might be nice to have someone else behind the wheel!

if it is a no-go for free parking...i think that if you are willing to pay for valet, you can certainly park

If you don't have an ADR, it will be really tough to park at the resort. Others have given you some really good suggestions so I won't chime in there.

Not always. I saw them turning people away who wanted to valet park, but were not staying at the resort.

1) Actually, ALL the resorts now have a sign at the guard shack saying access only
. . . for resort guests (guests staying there)
. . . confirmed restaurant reservations
2) We even got "carded" at the Wilderness Lodge Guard Shack when we went for lunch at WCC, and we showed a Disabled Placard and CM ID badge.
3) It took our ADR confirmation to get us past the guard.
4) Thus, do not expect to park at CR by saying you want to go to the lounge.

NOTE: There are simply too many people trying to park at resorts and use Disney buses to get to the parks. They want to avoid the high parking lot price. Even with a ADR and a 2-person no-show penalty, it is cheaper than using the parking lot at MK-DS-EP-AK.
