Hi, We're new members, taking our first trip in October. Really looking forward to it. We're checing in on Oct. 13th and have guests coming in another car.
Can anyone give us an approximate time of arrival, tell us where to park, and explain how we transport luggage (and selves) to check-in and room?
We stayed at OKW with friends once, and that was fairly simple and straight-forward. We just checked in and drove right to the parking spot outside the room.
Thanks for your help. Ray

Congratulations! DVC members receive free valet parking at the resorts. You could also drop your luggage at the lobby doors and park the car yourself, the parking lot is not a far walk.

is check in at the Beach Club Front Desk and find out where your room is actually located in the building. We had a bellman unload and deliver everything to our room. Then you can either valet park (free to DVC members, but we always tip) or park your car yourself. The first couple of days we used the valet parking, then we found that our room was an equal distance between the front entrance and the parking lot and we parked the car ourselves the last couple of days. We use our car a lot rather than depend on Disney transportation. It just depends on where we are going at what time.

I agree that the parking at BCV is not as convenient as at OKW, but it is not as bad as BWV either.

Check in time is after 4:00pm at all DVC resorts. If you arrive earlier, you can go thru the check in process and even get your room ID, but probably won't get your room number until it is ready for occupancy. Sometimes, you'll get in immediately, sometimes it's after 4.

You can unload the car at the Bell stand and let them Valet park your vehicle. As mentioned, it is free at all DVC resorts for members and $6 per day at other resorts. (Gratuities are still appreciated.)

The Bell Staff will transport your luggage to the room or store it until the room is ready.

They will make the process very easy and painless for you!

Enjoy! :)

After reading your post again, let me add, you will actually check in at the Beach Club Front Desk. You go in the main entrance and turn to your right for the check-in area. It is the same area for hotel and DVC Guests, not separate.

You can arrive at anytime you like, however your room may not be ready until 4:00. If you arrive early and your room is not ready, the Bellman will store your bags for you and then when you get into your room they will deliver at that time. You can use that time to check out the Resort or even head on to one of the Parks if you have enough time.

There are many parking places close to BCV. When you drive in, turn to the left instead of the right for BCV parking places. Check in at BC desk (just inside the bldg to the right when you enter at the valet parking area), leaving your baggage in the car. Find out where your room is, then either valet park and have bell services move your luggage to your room or park closer to the Villas and carry it in yourself.

Welcome, new DISer,
We are also checking in to BCV on October 13! I'll have some lime green ribbon on somewhere, probably the fanny pack. Make sure to look for it and come on over and say "hi" We are the real friendly type here on the DIS! Lynn

Thanks for the good parking information.

We are also checking in at BCV on the 13th! and
Luv2Dream, we're also going for the PGA tournament. I sure hope Tiger plays!! Should be fun.

I just got back from BCV yesterday. Follow signs for self-parking to the left once you pass the guard shack. Park in the last 3 rows, these are the closest to the villas. I think this is the best option versus valet. You will probably be closer to your car in self parking, instead of walking all the way down to the lobby and waiting for the valet. Also, valet is free for DVC members, but the going rate for a tip is $2.00 when your car is retrieved. That can add up if you use your car frequently as I did to visit other resorts for dinner or to go shopping for groceries or whatever. The villas being close is unique at BCV (and OKW) unlike VWL and BWV, which is a small hike to self-parking.

Thanks for all the help. I couldn't believe the quick responses. Doesn't look like parking will be a problem at all. Thanks, Ray
