Is there a charge for parking at Aulani if you are staying in the villas with points?

Convenient self-parking will be available at no daily charge for up to two cars for DVC Members and for those with a disabled parking permit. Valet parking will also be available for a charge.

It is a great perk as hotel costs pay $35 a day for parking. You will need your card key to get in and out of the parking lot.

If I am not mistaken since I haven't been to all the DVC resorts, all DVC reservations include free parking. This is also true if you are booking for other guests. At Aulani & GCV this is true. Love DVC!

We've stayed there twice on points and weren't charged for parking. You'll only pay for Hawaii's transient tax, which is pretty minimal.

so this is only for DVC members - but guests of member still have to pay the $35 per day? while at the other DVC resorts being a guest of the resort is enough for them not to pay

This is from the DVC member website:

It does not say "DVC guests and members" so based on that I would say that unless you have a DVC member card at check in you are subject to those parking fee's. I am here at Aulani right now and it seems like the DVC rooms are all together with the regular rooms. So unlike other DVC resorts where you are in a separate building or even wing, its not as clear who is a DVC member/staying on points and who is not.

If I were staying as a guest on points I would be tempted to call the resort and double check that though... good to know for sure.

I have rented points for a stay, and we did not have to pay for parking.

I have also stayed on the hotel side and not paid for parking by showing my DVC membership card, but they actually had to note that in the computer
(As opposed to stays on points, regardless of whether or not the member themselves are staying, the default for the computer appears to be to not charge for self-parking since they did not ask for my membership card when I was staying on someone else's points.)
