Hello. My family and I will be getting AP's this trip. We are booked at the DI&S for 4 nights and we want to be in the park the 5th day. We have to check out at 11 am (I believe) so I am considering paying to park in the parking garage. I am concerned about leaving our luggage in the car and parking in the parking structure. Is this not a good idea? Should I add another night? Or am I worrying for nothing? TIA :)

I don't think Disney's parking structure is any more or less safe than any other. If you have a sedan-type trunk & can lock it all away I might take the chance, but if you have an SUV or other hatchback, where your luggage would be 'on display' (even if under blanket or coats), I wouldn't do it.

Have you asked at the hotel you're staying at if they're willing to store your luggage after you check out? I know the onsite hotels will do this, not sure about other hotels.

I think DI&S will let you stay in the parking lot (and will hold luggage) until early afternoon, so you don't have to move right away. I would start by calling them and see about your options. I think they also have luggage lockers. I think locking your stuff in your van is just as safe as the luggage lockers though.

Desert Inn has lockers for your luggage, I think they're like $1 or $1.50 in quarters (they'll make change for you at the front desk). DI&S generally doesn't hold your luggage behind the counter, but I like the locker thing better because there's easy access any time. When we got there too early to check in on our first day, put our stuff in the (big, roomy) locker and came back for it when we could get into our room in the afternoon. Same thing on our last day, we left it in the locker and got it out in time to get on our shuttle.

I have even read that some people who are staying farther along Harbor and taking the shuttle will use DS&I's lockers, and arrange for shuttle pickup there, because it's closer to access than walking back to their own hotel and getting their held luggage from the front desk.

When you check in, they'll tell you where to go for the lockers-- you go out the lobby door and turn left. There is parking along the wall under the overhang, and you walk past the indoor pool. The lockers are in a room on the left just beyond that.

I wouldn't leave a computer or anything really valuable in the car, but if it were just clothes and toiletries, I would have no problem leaving my luggage in the car in Mickey and Friends.
