Parking a rental car

This is a long shot but I thought I’d ask. If you are renting from the car rental in DTD (Alamo, I think), can you keep the car parked there while not in use to avoid $15/parking charges?

We actually just called Alamo the other day and asked them the same question. They said you can not park there until you are ready to give up your car.
