I have a question about the tickets. Last time we went we purchased 8 day MYW w/ park hopper. We ended up using the parkhopper one time and only went for 6 days (2 days were travel only so we didn't use them). Here is my question. If we decide on base tickets w/o parkhopper and then some time during our vacation would like to visit a second park on the same day, can we just use a whole different day's tickets?

Example... We go for 6 nights 7 days...We get 7 day hopper tickets but since a couple of days are travel only we know we will only be using 5 days worth. Can we use one of those purchased days getting into a park? If this even makes sense...I am not trying to pull anything over on Disney..this is a legit question

apparently you cannot. sorry. last time I had that problem they let me. I guess you could not buy those two day tix......

yes, you can use a different days ticket to visit a different park. If your getting 7 day tix and are only going to the World for 5 days and the other two days are for travel, then you will have two tix left to use. You can use those two to go to different parks. It will save you some money.........WE do that.....LOL
Hey thanks. I seems like a waste of money when we have 2 perfectly good tickets that will never be used.

if you mean go to 2 different parkjs from disney then no

only one park a day with out the hopper

joyce

Nope..no can do.If you want to visit 2 parks in one day the machine does not let you. This loophole was cut out by disney. The only way to park hop is to pay for it.Keep in mind that the cost of park hopping is the same no matter how many days tix you purchase or how many days you have left if you were to add it later on.

You may not use two days on the same ticket on the same day. Here is the info from Cheshire Figment's excellent sticky on tickets:

A. I have a base ticket for eight days, although I will only be spending six days in the Parks. The day I have for Animal Kingdom I also have a dinner reservation at Epcot. May I use one of my “extra” days for evening admission to Epcot?

A base ticket is one major (theme) park per day. You are allowed to re-enter the same park if you leave it on one day, but it can only be used at the one park.

Note that the ticket will state on it either "Not Valid For Park Hopping" or "One Theme Park Per Day". That should be a hint.

If you put the ticket in the turnstile of another park the display on the Guest side of the turnstile will be "ACCESS DENIED". The top line of the display on the Greeter side will give information about the ticket, and the second line of the display will say "CROSSOVER NOT PERMITTED". The turnstile will not unlock.

This is because Disney charges $3.00 per day over four days on an adult ticket, but charges $50 to allow hopping. It does not make economic sense for Disney to allow this.

If you actually have multiple tickets (more than one physical ticket per person) as opposed to multiple day tickets, you can use these tickets for multiple entries. But it makes absolutely no economic sense as a separate ticket costs a lot more than adding hopping to a ticket.

If you have a ticket from a previous trip that has days remaining, it is probably possible to use a day from the old ticket to get into another park. For example, you use your current tickets to get into MK for the day. You decide to go to Epcot for Illuminations or EMH or whatever. If you have leftover days on an old ticket that has not been sent through the turnstiles that day, it might work as a day of admission. I've never tried it and don't know if Disney would frown on that or not. It sounds from the sticky that it is OK to do.

Generally, it wouldn't make sense to have two sets of tickets just so you could hop. The current system is designed to reward longer stays with price breaks - it wouldn't make economic sense to let you use another day that you paid $3 for instead of paying $50 for the hopper option.

I'm not sure how (or when) you have done that - the current system is designed not to allow that. If you are planning to go to the parks for five days, buy five day tickets.

You absolutely cannot do that!

Everyone's right...you can't. I had thought about trying it myself, but Disney's on to it. Only one park a day for base tickets.
