Park Vue Review

These reviews make me feel better about staying at Park Vue. I have reservations for November and I was a bit uneasy and wondering if I had made a mistake. I have previously stayed at DI & S and Fairfield Inn. Looking forward to our upcoming stay.:)

We will be headed back in September and always stay at the Park Vue. I remember staying there as a kid when it was a dingy seedy looking place lol. It sure has changed a lot.

Returning guests do get a discount. When we booked the discount was about $2-3 cheaper per night than what you could get booking online with them. I thought I overheard the manager saying to someone that the more you stay the more discount you get, but I'm not sure since we have stayed there several times and it was only $2-3 cheaper.

It can cost more than the other hotels nearby, but once you factor in the big breakfast spread, the free water, the free cookies and juice, and the free social hour, I think it works out to be cheaper in the long run. Great value there.

Glad I came across this thread, I hope to start planning a trip soon, so on and off site reviews are helpful.:)

I had called recently and it is a $3/night for returning guests. Do you have to go to the front desk for the water?

Taking a break from the park at our really nice room at the Park Vue Inn!
We are in the 2 room suite, with a kitchen. the seperate bedroom has 2 very very comfy queen size beds, a desk with chair, and a small table with 2 chairs. Out in the living room there is a sofa, coffe table, wall mounted flat screen tv above the really nice looking electric fireplace. The kitchen has granite counters and a tile floor, nice wood cabinets. the bathroom is very nice also granite counters and nice tile work, nice light fixtures and fans throughout all rooms. The rooms are nice and bright, you can not see into the rooms through the sheer curtains at all, so there is lot's of light coming in. The pool area even though it is in the middle of the parking area, is surrounded by a wall and lot's of very nice plantings and palm trees so you can't even see the parking lot. We watched the fireworks last night right out our living room window! there is really nice crown molding and trim in the rooms, the wall finishes are even nicer than just normal paint! the room looks like it must have been recently updated, and if this is the route they are going with all rooms, and had to cut the social hour to save money and do the upgrades that's great with me!!
This room was not available for the first night of our stay so we were in the 2 room suite with 3 queen beds and no kitchen, and it was not as nice. It needs a refurb. the beds were still very comfortable, but I was really glad when I saw our new room! We are up on the 2nd floor toward the front of the hotel just down the corridor from the breakfast area. I do not understand at all someone saying the breakfast was inedible. there is a big selection, you can make your own waffles which are very good, there is a big fresh fruit salad which is being constantly refilled, and there is a variation between sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs or omelets, french toast, regular toast of all types, lot's of different cereals, bagels and cream cheese, yoghurts, by far better than the breakfast we had at BWPPI. Anyway, I.....gasp....found a hair, it was on the floor, probably came off the housekeeper on her way out because other than that the room was spotless. Maybe the housekeepers should be made to wear bio hazard suits while cleaning? :lmao: Everyone has been sooooooooo nice to us, always a friendly hello from whomever you pass, 2 phone calls to make sure we were happy with the room. And the walk to the park can not be beat. you can't get any closer without being on Disney property, and the walk from the gate to the Disneyland hotel (where we will be next week) is even further. We signed up for the Stone cold creamery and have a coupon for a buy one get one free creation, and the PVI gave my grand son and myself vouchers for small birthday cakes from there! and I am guessing because we reserved before the changes took place there was a gift bag with toys etc for our grandson and a coffee mug with chocolate in it for myself.
We will be staying here again without a doubt and I hope the other rooms are as nice, or will be made to be as nice as this!

Thanks for the review. Have a great vacation. :)

Thank you so much for your review smileyface!:worship: I was just thinking about you this morning and wondering how your room was at the Park Vue as we were looking into booking the exact same room for our holiday next summer.:cool1: Based on the wonderful things you said, I think my worries have been taken care of!:cloud9: If I may ask, I heard through other posts, that the kitchen is not very well appointed and that the towels are awful.:worried: What are your thoughts on these? I know when we stayed in a bunk room last year - just a few doors down from your room I believe - we found the rooms to be very clean and comfortable and would definitely stay there again! Btw, I find your analogy of the long lost hair to be :lmao: I did email the Park Vue today as I was unable to get a price off of their website for that suite and they emailed back a few hours later letting me know that they are only able to book 9 months in advance. They also informed me that they have stopped the evening social meal as well as the welcome baskets in order to do more renovations. Sounds reasonable to me!:) Have a wonderful rest of your trip!:goodvibes and any other reviews you want to give will all be welcomed!! We are still trying to decide between the Park Vue suite and the Residence Inn Maingate. I am heading more towards the RI as they do have a better price thus far...

Again, thanks for your review! We are booked here in exactly one month. We actually have the three queens for ourselves and brother and the room you are now in for my parents.mcould you elaborate on why you didn't like the three room set up? As long as it is clean and the beds are comfy, and it's not too noisy, I'm fine with it.

Thanks so much for the review! I have booked the same kind of room in September and I was getting a bit nervous with all the up and down reviews, I didn't know what to think! I am not at all fazed by them no longer having the supper or basket.

:goodvibes towells are awesome! thick cotton, very nice! and lot's of them, there were 6 large ones and lots of hand towells and facecloths too. The kitchen has an assortment of things, plenty of plates about 6 bowls, a couple of saucers, about 6 mugs, plenty of cutlery, a can opener, a pot for cooking pasta or whatever, a couple of saucepans, all of it is pretty mismatched, but it's fine for the little bits of cooking we have done like kraft dinner, or soup. the stove is a gas stove, quite new and very clean and works perfectly, the fridge is bigger than a hotel fridge, but smaller than a full size. the microwave is above the stove with a fan built in. They supplied paper towell, but when we shopped we forgot to pick up a shaker of salt so we are now on a low salt diet :rotfl:
The other room we were in with 3 queens was at the back of the property, so a bit more walking. It's not quite as recently updated, but still clean and still had very good comfy beds. I just don't like having the 2 beds in the main room because if someone opens the door to go out and you are laying there in bed you are kind of exposed to whomever is going by.... I like this one because if the door is open, it is just open to the living room, mind you if someone were sleeping on the fold out couch, they would be in the same position. It's the same situation at BWPPI, but places like Hojo's have a bit of a hallway before the main room. I will do my best to hook up my camera and upload some photos in the next couple of days, but you know what it's like when you are here, there is never enough time for everything!
I used my sasquatch feet to roughly pace out the measurements and the whole suite is about 500 square feet, or maybe slightly under. there is plenty of room.
when we came back this afternoon maintenance was in here replacing the ceiling fans in the bedroom, the old ones were so nice but these are really, really nice!! any other questions we will be here until monday when we get to switch over to the DL hotel!!

Thanks for the review & update! I hope you're having a beautiful time!! :lovestruc

I've had my eye on that hotel for a long time for our 2013 trip...the light suppers and the free water/snacks would have been a big plus. When I heard they were gone, I thought about looking elsewhere, but I think it's still a fine choice. Are the water bottles gone for sure?

Any tips on how to get a room at the front with a fireworks view?

I both called and emailed ahead of time requesting the type of room and location on the property. And a couple of days before your arrival call again to confirm your requests. then if you can, check in as early as you can.
There are giant coolers in the lobby with a fruit punch and lemonade, and a bowl with apples, bananas and oranges. There is also a coffee and hot chocolate machine with cream pods and that french vanilla stuff, so you can go there and get some refreshments any time! just not bottled water to take away with you. It seems like all we are doing is eating here! :stir: I have that little fridge right full of all kinds of food, the meals are always waaaaay too big, and the nice thing about being so close, if you are going to be at the park for more than another 1-2 hours you can run your leftovers back to the room. I am again here today taking in a break and I brought back the leftovers from our lunch at Flo's V8 Cafe, the beef striploin which I made into a sandwhich with the yummy bun they give you and piece of to die for strawberry rhubarb pie :lovestruc the only complaint I have is that they have kind of bad coffee in the rooms, but we came prepared with our Tassimo machine and lot's of pods so I have good coffee with my pie :woohoo: It is sooooo hot out there today I thought I was going to pass out in the Toy Story Midway Mania line! :(
I left a note about the sink in the kitchen being slow to drain when we left this morning and came back to find it fixed! They are so on the ball here with requests! and I sure do like being greeted with a smile and hello by everyone here :)

Thank you for taking the time to do your reviews for us!! It is much appreciated!! Glad to hear you are enjoying everything so much!! Is there a toaster in the room?

When we were there last year (July 2011) they were not doing the water bottles then...
As far as getting a room with fireworks view, just call and ask! In my experience they were very good with accommodating as best they could!:)

I noticed in posts/reviews that they have stopped some of the extras to make away for renovations to this motel. We are planning a July 2013 trip. It will be our first & I would love to stay right across the street. I will be watching carefully on any updates of renovations in the near future. :) I hope this is true!

Yes there is a toaster, 2 slice wide slot for bagels as well! We were swimming in the pool today, it was so nice and warm and perfectly clean :) We will be staying here next year when we bring 2 of our grand daughters. We brought 2 of them in December and stayed at Hojo's which was very nice, but that walk just kills me. what can I say, I'm a wimp! especially with 2 little ones. I really love this set up for a long stay like this, so much more comfortable than just beds in a room!

I like your comment about being close enough just to run leftovers back to the fridge! Perfect food and money saver.

Quick question...we will be arriving in Anaheim about 9:30 am. We were planning on getting our rental cars and then heading to Lomg Beach and Huntington for the day. Would you advise getting to PV early and checking in, even though not expecting a room to be ready, but rather just to be able to ensure we get our rooms we booked?? Thanks!
