Yesterday I asked if there were any in room safes (we just got an Ipad) and was wondering about the Park Vue Inn. I just read on Expedia that there is a surcharge for the internet and the safe. How much is the surcharge?

We're staying at Park Vue next month. Their webpage says they have free wi-fi (under the "General Information" section). I don't know about in-room safes, but many hotels in that area have them for free. You just have to program your own access code to use it. It's probably best to call the front desk and ask about the safes so you'll know what you'll be able to store.

I don't believe there is a fee to use the safe. Might want to book through Park Vue directly if you decide to stay there. I've read recent reviews about not getting the room type you requested if you book on Expedia. Prices were also better on Park Vue's website than on Expedia when I booked. Just a thought!

My general practice is to search for hotels using sites like tripadvisor, expedia, etc., but when it comes to booking the hotel, I almost always book through the hotel directly. I'm usually able to get the same rate and I trust that nothing will get screwed up in the process that way.

katy621, the in-room safe and the wi-fi are at no charge. I just came back for 1 week and checked my credit card online statement. There were only two charges from PVI. The first one was the security deposit (first night's rate), and the second one was the balance I paid at check-in.

The safe is wide enough to store your iPAD lying flat.

Usually if I found better rate somewhere else (mostly with coupons), I called the hotel and asked if they could match it. I have tried this twice and both times worked.

Piggyback question: Is the safe at Park Vue big enough for a laptop? Mine is 15", if that matters.

We checked in today and I put my netbook in along with my Kindle, and VB backpack. I'll check tomorrow to see if DH's iMac fits. There is no charge for wifi or the safe, although DH is not able to connect to the internet for some reason. I have a PC and I don't know anything about Safari.
