I called the PVI and asked the guy directly about the bedbugregistry issue. His response was that the person that reported the incident had just stayed at another area hotel/motel and that they believe the guest brought the bugs in when they came from the other hotel. He did not try to hide the fact that it did happen, but that the event was a bit suspicious. He assured me that they took care of it in the proper way so that they are gone.
He also said that they have monthly pest control come in and are very diligent to make sure this does not happen again. I mentioned to him that almost all the reviews I have read are positive and he reiterated that they work hard to keep that.
As awful as it sounds, ANY hotel can get bugs. They have far much to lose (good reviews) to not do everything they can do alleviate the problem. As creeped out as I was about the possibility of bugs, after I spoke with the PVI guy, those fears were gone.
Here's what the PVI DOES offer ... of course "free" isn't really "free" - more like "included".
Free Parking? Yes
Free wifi? Yes
Free breakfast (which appears to be decent)? Yes
Free social hour? Yes
Free water and cookies in the lobby? Yes
Free welcome basket with water or wine and fruit? Yes
Microwave and Fridge? Yes
Heated pool and hot tub? Yes
We'll be there next week, so I'll let you know how it goes!![]()
Thanks for calling and then sharing the response. You're right it can happen at any hotel and it is a risk you take when traveling, however the very thought of bed bugs makes my skin crawl

Look forward to hearing your review when you get back. Have a wonderful trip!!!!!!! Say hi to Mickey or me!
