Hi. I am just wondering if you all think that the convenience of Park Vue Inn is worth it. I am a travel agent and have stayed at the Fairfield Inn (when I was 14) and at the Anabella as an adult (no kids). This time we are taking our 9 and 7 year old. I have stayed at 2 stars in Mexico and luxury resorts, so know that as a motel I am not expecting a 4 star hotel. I was thinking that for the kids staying across the street would be magical for them and we have booked the 2 queen, sofa bed suite (2 rooms). My other choice would be the Embassy South for the comfort, but the shuttle would be a bit of a pain. Just want to know your opinions on the value of staying so close for the kids. And the benefit of the dinners (although I'm sure not great, are good kids dinners and would save some money). In my 14 years as an agent, I have never sent anyone to the PVI. Help??

It's often ranked 1, 2 and rarely 3 on TA.

Staying close is great for a few reasons.
No lockers, you can run back in the late afternoon or evening to grab a sweater.
More sleep, since you don't have to spend time getting to and from the parks.
At the PVI dinner is nice, because it's close so easy to get back to, unlike the few other and far places with that perk.

We will be there in 2 weeks for the first time. We have stayed at BWPPI, DLH, Grand Californian, Residence Inn, Hilton Anaheim, Embassy Suites, Desert Inn and Suites- and a few others too yucky to mention. I'll let you know what we think.

DEFINITELY worth the convenience with young kids! Be sure to call the hotel directly to see if they can give you a better deal than you got on the website (if that's how you booked). Sometimes they are good about that at PVI.

This hotel has been renovated in the past several years and isn't bad at all. Some of the rooms are rather charming, and the staff is quite good. It's nice to have the breakfast and evening snack offerings and they also give you a coupon to use at the Coldstone Creamery (for ice cream) that's located next to the lobby.

I think it's a great place for location and price compared to many of the other hotels in the area. :thumbsup2

We returned from Park Vue Inn and Disneyland on Tuesday of this past week. I will write a full trip report later. All the staff at Park Vue was great. Very helpful and constantly asking if we wanted water bottles etc.It was as clean as needed. The bunk bed rooms are small, but sufficient for the time spent in them. The bunks worked out great for my children. We ate breakfast both days which was sufficient and had dinner one night which was OK. It was great to be able to park early, check in, grab water bottles and glasses of lemonade, and then go walk 5 minutes to be in the esplanade. It was nice to get back so quick when it started raining. Overall I would definitely stay there again.

:cool1: We'll be there in two weeks also! We'll be the one's wearing tshirts with homemade shirts using transfer designs from the "Creative design" board on this site. If you see us say hi!:yay:

Are the bunk beds regular twin size? Will a 6 foot teenager fit in them? What kind of things did they have for the light "dinner"? What about breakfast?

What do your shirts look like? I'll be the one with 4 teenage boys-lol. We are travelling with another family ( husband, wife, grandma, teenage girl and very hyper boy!). I just realized it will be the first time I won't be heading to the bathroom at Disneyland by myself-lol

That's funny! I will be with my husband, 11 year old daughter, and 20 year old niece. I made nine different shirts , some matching, some not. Many have mickey head silhouttes with a different character in the silhouette (such as Capt. Jack Sparrow, tigger, donald duck, etc). About three or four days I have shirts so we all match (tower of terror, splash mountain, etc). I went a little overboard making shirts, so we even have a different one for our travel days. :lmao: My husband agreed to wear the shirts to amuse me...he's a good sport!:yay: I've talked of nothing else but Disneyland for the last six months...it's our first trip since we married last year.

We've stayed there 3 times. All good experiences. You just can't beat the convenience. 5 minutes room to entry gate. Breakfast is pretty good, but can be VERY crowded. Not a fan of the dinners. It was just mac n cheese, bagged salad, chips, and chicken noodle soup. No crowd at dinner though -LOL.

Free parking; free breakfast; 5-minute walk to the esplanade; staff is consistently friendly; there's no doubt you're in a 2.5 star motel - but overall I think still a very fair value.
