What do you think?????

Going for 7 nights over Christmas. Family of 5. Myself, DH, DS 7, DS 5, and DD2.

Thanks for your help

I can only mention the Park Vue. It is right next to IHOP which is right at the crosswalk to DL. About a 4-6 minute walk depending upon your walking speed. It has a minimal breakfst...but it is free. Coffee, juice..pretty icky pastries, cereal...but it was okay to tide us over for our day. The pool which you may or may not use is small and dated....but clean and while I wasn't impressed, my DD7 lovedi it. It is a bit chilly in December for swimming outdoors---we did, but we swim in a outdoor pool in San diego year around.
Oh, and plenty of parking. Can park your car there for the whole day the day you check out!!!
Our room was plenty big for our purpose. 2 adults and only one child. We stayed in a bunkbed room. It would be too small for your family...no way is there room for another bed of any sorts in the room.

Staff was pleasant. The motel is truly on the level of about a Motel 6..but most of the ones right there are.

Hope this helped a little!! :)

You can get a Family suite room at the Desert Inn. I would go with them for that reason.

I've stayed at both and both were fine.

I have stayed at both (though we were at the Park Vue before the remodel).
The Park Vue is an old two story motel that has been recently remodeled inside and out. I do not know how detailed the remodel was... Did they replace the really thin windows with double pane glass (we could hear lots of stuff going on in the parkinglot)...did the sound proof the walls? We had a room in the back section which was nice sized and laid out decently. It was a fine enough room though bland. The rooms along the side are supposedly a bit smaller. In any case the new remodel looks nice enough and the rooms look better.
Right next door is the Desert Inn which is 6 or 7 stories and more modern looking. The parlor suite we had has a very, very small living room with a pullout sofa and its own TV. There is a door that closes off into the bedroom which was nice size though blandly decorated. It was comfortable and quiet.
The pool at the Desert Inn is inside a small room and is incredibly noisy. The pool at the Park Vue was outside and seemed to have a bit more room.
Breakfast at both places was comparable. The walk from the Desrt Inn is only a few seconds more than the Park Vue.
