Park Vue Inn vs. Best Western Plus Park Place Inn

I did a search for a comparison between these two motels, but the most recent thread I found was from January of 2013 and I'd like to have more recent opinions.

I have reservations at both places for a week in July, but I'm so torn. The Best Western is $145 cheaper for our stay.

I have heard the breakfast at Park Vue is better, and also that the pool area is slightly better, as well as having renovated rooms. I also like that the Park Vue has an in-room safe. But is all that worth $145? I'd love to hear from those who have stayed at both fairly recently.

(PS. Parking isn't an issue as we won't have a car.)

I have stayed at both hotels within the past 9 months, and I do agree that the breakfast offerings and area is better at Park Vue. I enjoyed the pool area better than the Best Western, as it has more of a private feel to it which I liked and left it more quiet. The room remodel was happening while we were there, and we had a newly remodeled room and it was quite nice.

While I prefer the rooms and accomodations better at Park Vue, there isn't anything terrible with Best Western either. I'm currently planning another trip to Disneyland, and with the amount of time we spend in the parks versus the amount of time in the hotels, I'm thinking of just going with Best Western due to the lower cost. It really comes down to what you value you out of your hotel and whether the extra $145 is worth it.

I haven't stayed at the PVI, but I have stayed at the BWPPI in recently (December). There isn't anything really outstanding or awful about it. It's a pretty basic motel, but I found the rooms to be clean and comfortable. The pool is pretty generic and not very impressive, but I don't go swimming while at DLR (to busy in the parks ). The breakfast feature pretty standard items (scrambled eggs, potato cubes, some type of meal (ham or sausage normally), toasted items (waffles, bagels, bread), fruit (banana, apples, oranges), yogurt, cereal, and drinks (coffee, milk, orange juice), but it was included in the cost of the room. I generally picked up a plate full of food and brought it back to the room to eat so that we could eat and get ready at the same time. Overall, I've found the BWPPI to be fine.

Park Vue Inn offers rooms with bunk beds. Best Western does not. May not be a factor for you though.

You cannot go wrong with either hotel but I give the PVI a nod because of the slightly better breakfast.

We've stayed at both, most recently last year at Spring Break at BWPPI. They are pretty similar, although I agree the pool area at Park Vue is nicer. I think I preferred the breakfast at the Best Western. There seemed to be a bit more selection, and substantially more seating area. We also found the rooms at BW brighter and larger than the ones at Park Vue. We had a room with one queen and bunkbeds at Park Vue and a room with 2 queens and a sofa bed at the Best Western, for almost the same prices. If it was a choice between the two, I would probably choose the Best Western again. Either way, have fun!

I haven't stayed at BWPPI but I really liked the PVI. For the record the bunk beds will fit a 6'2" 220lbs Dad no problem. I'm still not entirely sure how my wife worked that one over on me.

Thanks for all your input. I decided to go with the Park Vue although the Best Western was a very close second choice. I hope I've made the right decision!
