So I’ve been a big supporter of the Park Vue Inn on these boards, and wanted to share my thoughts. We have stayed there 5 times since June. Prior to this trip, based on advice from reviews read on trip advisor, we’ve always booked a two queen room and requested a room towards the back of the motel on the second floor. We’ve always had rooms in the 230s, which are located along the very back section on the second floor, and our rooms have always been nicely updated, large, clean, and quiet. However, we booked a last minute trip this past Tuesday and all they had left were one queen with a bunk bed, and I guess my husband forgot to request the second floor. The bunk bed rooms are closer to the front of the hotel, and definitely louder. Also, I think that first section of rooms (we had room 110) are part of the original motel, because even though they’ve been renovated, they feel very old and they have a smell. They don’t smell bad, I can’t put my finger on it..... maybe just old and humid. The room was very clean, but I feel that these rooms need to be taken to the studs and completely redone. We initially had room 108 and they were nice enough to move us, but 110 had the same minor issues as 108. It’s just that building. Also, the bunk bed rooms are much smaller and more cramped. So is the bathroom.
So my tips are as follows:
Book a two queen room and request a room on the second floor towards the back of the property. These rooms feel “newer” and they’re very quiet. Room 238 and 237 are great!
We still had a good stay, but honestly if this past trip was our first experience at the PVI, I think we’d be more likely to branch out. That being said, we stayed at Hotel Indigo last month, and even though it’s newer and fancier, that walk back is hell compared to the PVI! Their location is just awesome. We will be back with our typical requests!
