We're going to be staying on Disney property but visiting Universal for 3 days of our stay, late summer/early fall. We will have our own car. Any thoughts on how one would travel from Volcano Bay to the other parks? I've tried a few google searches and haven't found out how that would work. I am hoping there might be bus, or train, or some sort of transportation that wouldn't require us to get in our car and drive. It appears to be too far to walk to, or too much of a hassle to walk to.
Just curious! :)
I plan on spending part of one day at Volcano Bay, I don't imagine that it will take up a WHOLE day, so I want to hit up the other parks in the late afternoon/early evening.

I am not sure if this is allowed but Volcano Bay is bumped right up against Cabana Bay Hotel. The walk there would be minimal and then take the shuttle to the Citywalk/Parks.

Since you are going three days at Universal, you might consider planning it before or after Disney and staying on site. Cabana Bay is wonderful and would allow you to dry/change in the comfort of a room.

That's good to know. :) I'm just not sure if the resort shuttles would be able to accommodate people that want to travel between the parks? I will keep that in mind.
We're camping at Fort Wilderness during our stay, so we'll have a trailer with us, plus it's less expensive, but thank you for the suggestion.
Maybe when we return again we'll stay at Universal, my kids tend to prefer Universal to Disney and I'm sure that preference will grow as they get older.

The reality is that no one knows how exactly it will work yet as the Volcano Bay is months away from opening and Universal has been pretty vague on the details. I'd start checking the boards in mid-May and everyone should have more details at that point.

There will not be a parking lot at Volcano Bay. You will park in the regular Universal Parking Garage and from there they will run shuttles back and forth to Volcano Bay. So after you are done at Volcano Bay you can drop your stuff back into your car(if you do not want to lug it around) and then head to the parks from there.

Absolutely correct.

We could see some folks unhappy with it working that way.

Thanks for the insight.
