hi,
do you think there might be any deals for park hopper tickets for over thanksgiving, or do you think its safe to just go ahead and get them now? i like to pay for as much as i can when i have the cash....no CC bills after the vaca!!, but i certainly dont want to buy them, and then see a great deal  what do ya think??

also, does DLand have pressed penny/quarter machines like WDW? im sure they do, just want to make sure.....:confused3

thanks!
Have a DISNEY kind of day!!!

From what I've read they sometimes come out with sales in August or Sept. Im holding out until the end of Sept. to buy my tickets for early November. HTH :)

I usually only buy tickets early once I know what the promotions for my dates will be, like with my end-of-September summer trip that I recently bought that were part of the 2 days free when you buy 3 promotion for the summer. I don't know if/what promotions are avaialble that time of the year though.

As for pressed pennies, you bet DLR has them!

Might be a price increase around that time, though. In '07 the prices increased in later September. I think it was the same time in '08. '09 I believe the prices increased in August or maybe earlier... Now would it offset a great deal? probably not. Just something to think about.

I too like to spread the costs out ~ when I need to buy 3 park hoppers, I buy the 1st at least 3 months out, then 2nd at least 2 months out and the 3rd right before we leave or sooner. I don't think you'll get any deals around Thanksgiving.

Will prices go up a significant amount do you think? I was going to wait until August or September to get a deal too, but if prices are gonna go up....

I know Disneyland ticket prices went up at the beginning of each of the last two Augusts. We were at the parks at those times. We were going with friends in Nov. 2008 and got word of the expected increase, so we convinced them to hurry up and pre-buy their tickets in August so they could avoid the price increase. DSs birthday is at the beginning of August and the ticket price changed just before his birthday last year (2009) which meant his birthday fun card was worth a little more than we had planned for (something good from a price increase at least once). From my recollection, the August price increase was $3 for single day tickets, $10 for hopper tickets, and, I think, at least $10-$20 for APs. Just can't remember if the AP increase was more; I think not because I think there were two AP prices increases one year (or maybe both years) and that's how the prices got so high so fast.

We are planning on getting 5 day passes. If it jumps $5 or $10, it's not THAT big a deal, but still. Is there usually any deals in the fall? Kind of like the 5 for 3 or something similar?

prices might go UP?? ugh! dang it...what to do.....what to do.....did i say "UGH"???????

I know how you feel! Do we wait? Or do we buy now? If we wait and prices go up, we'll be kicking ourselves. If we buy now, and there's a good deal, again, we will be kicking ourselves!! Ugh!

yeah, this stinks! i guess i would rather pay now and miss out on a better deal....than to pay MORE than what i budgeted for later. im really glad i found out now...

Yeah me too. I figured the prices would drop a bit after the summer months, but I guess not. I will probably get them on the 16th of July with the Mickey Halloween Party tickets.

Last August, the price of a DAP went from $269 to $289, a $20 increase. Then, late in the year it went up another $10, to $299.

I believe the PAPs went up more. Like from $389 to $439 total, or something like that? Not sure about those -- I bought us DAPs just before the increase (on the Costco deal, which doesn't exist any more).

Pressed pennies - yes. Here's the official list, which hangs off of http://www.parkpennies.com/disneylandpennychecklists/disneylandchecklist.htm
