Park ticket question

We are planning our first trip with DD (who will turn 2 the last day of our vacation.) The ticket structure is very different now than it was when we last went in 2003. We are trying to decide how many days to buy tickets for, and whether or not to do the Park Hopper or no Expiration options.

We don't think we will do much park hopping with DD - we figure that we will spend a few hours per day in one park at most. If you do buy tickets without the no expiration option, and you visit a park one day, are you actually "shut out" from visiting another park? Or will it just chew up one extra day on your ticket if you decide to visit another park the same day?

Without park hopping, you are shut out from another park. Your ticket is based on the # of days, not the # of park admissions.

I think I read recently on another thread somewhere that if you don't get the hopper option (regardless of expire or not), you can only do one park per day. Meaning you can't go to MK in the morning, use up one day, and then decide to go to Epcot in the afternoon and "eat up" a 2nd day. You would actually have to wait until the next day to use up another day on your ticket. Disney's way of making you spring for more options I guess! :confused3 With a little one at that age, if you don't think you'll want or be able to bounce around a lot, I'd say probably skip the hopping option. You know your child best, but even a half day at one of the parks can be very tiring, and an afternoon nap and/or hanging out at your resort may fit the bill!

As for how many days, depends of course on how many you have to spend there, and what you think you really want to see. But if you don't do the Hopper option on your tickets, I would say at least one day for every park you want to go to.

Have a great time and enjoy the Magic through that little gal's eyes! :cloud9:

The others are right, it's the Hopper option that lets you go to more than one park each day.

One sort-of exception is if you add the Water Parks and More option. You CAN go to a theme park and a water park on the same day since they are considered two completely different things on your ticket. Heck, with the Water option, you can go to two water parks, Disney Quest, and Pleasure Island in one day, using 4 Water options in one day if you really wanted to. :)

The non-expiration option should only be paid for if you're going to buy more days than you will use on this trip and will have enough days left over for your next trip to make it worthwhile to pay for the option. If you wind up with tickets just for your length of stay, then forget this expense.
