Sticky situation here. We visit WDW every other year and seem to stay longer each trip -- this time we're set for 12 days o' fun! Normally we buy PHPs -- we like to hit the parks for a day or two, then take a break for a whole day and laze around the resort. Then maybe hit a water park the next day -- you get the idea. I have priced the UPH and even with our DVC discount (a big 10% yeah, right... yee-haw...) it just doesn't pay off. PLus, we would feel guilty just sitting around the resort or taking "downtime". And if a kid gets sick -- well, too bad -- you lose the days. We have 3 kids under age 10 -- it's wholly possible that could happen!

So here's the dilemma -- I had to go and read these boards and find out about those FITS passes! For less than a 7 day PHP, we could be coming and going from the parks at free will for the entirety of our stay. AND we would get DQ. And a character b'fast. And Kennedy Space Center (we drive down, and I've always wanted to take the kids there -- it's included in the FITS.)
So wow -- seems really great, huh?!?! Or does it? Will we find ourselves going commando? IS "coming and going" from the park worth it? FWIW, we would probably end up with 2 or 3 park days and at least 1 plus still left on a 7 day PHP from this trip -- we really enjoy DTD, the resort pools, etc. And those are days we could use on a future trip. The FITS expires and that's it -- nothing left. Aughhh -- I can't decide! We are going in August and I thought hmmmm -- it sure would be nice to go to the parks for roughly the same amount of time but ONLY do mornings and evenings when it's cooler and SKIP OUT during the "hot times"! But then again -- if someone got sick, or if it rained the whole time, or if we made ourselves miserable by feeling guilty when not in the parks and then, after 12 days, exhausted -- well, again, I ask -- is it worth it?

One other factor -- family. We are bringing family along with us for 9 of the days. If they get PHPs -- what's the point in our getting a FITS? We could flit and twit between TL and MK in a day -- but for them it would burn both a plus and a day off their passes. Is it best to just go with the same passes as your guests? Is 9 days enough to reap benefit of a FITS? (The FITS is still cheaper than the corresponding UPH pass). Our guests like the idea of a PHP (so they can use left-over days later). They have 2 kids that are even younger than ours -- maybe they are fearful that one of the kids will be allergic to characters or something, I don't know! And personally, I can see their points0 especially regarding the left-over days -- I udes to be a huge advocate for that myself! But once I read about those FITS -- well, it just really confused the decision for me!

So if I haven't lost you already by the length of post, please give your input -- 7 day PHPs or FITS? And do I tell the guests to do the same? Make the call!

(ANd thanks!)

Actually I would suggest a Premium Annual Pass. I believe the breakeven point is eight days. So if you are planning to go to the parks more then 8 times within 12 months this is definitely the better choice.

Plus you would be eligible for AP discounts at the resorts and many other benefits.

The FITS is a pkg I really havent heard too much about so cant comment on that one. The pro on the PHP is that the days you dont use are good for future visits.
