park sold out?

I'm debating between the Candy Cane Inn and the DL Hotel. The DL Hotel will cost me almost $50/night more. My fear is that the parks will sell out (July2-4) and that if we don't stay at a Disney hotel we won't be able to get in. Does this really happen? I want to be able to spend our afternoons at the pool and not have to worry about getting back into the park.

Are DL hotel guests guaranteed unlimited admission even if the parks are sold out?

I know that once the parks hit max capacity they stop letting anyone in, and if folks leave even with a handstamp there's no guarantee at getting back in. But this is from a non-hotel guest POV. So double and triple check with DLR to make sure you have guaranteed entrance into the parks, even after they are "closed" due to max capacity (if you can get this in writing you'd be better off).

As for the parks closing due to max capacity ... I can almost guarantee you that it'll happen at least on July 4th, seems to happen almost every year. Don't know about the likelihood of 7/2 or 7/3.
