We are going in May as a party of 5. DH and I are AP holders and bringing our 3 adult children. I just purchased three 3-day park hopper for them and tried to make my park reservation. Do I really have to make two separate reservations? One for us AP holders and one for the park hoppers? We just went last summer and I was able to make everyone's reservation all together. I can almost picture the higher ups in a meeting laughing at what a PITA WDW planning has become, when the new guy walks in and says, "Hold my beer!"

Based on my experience, yes you have to make two separate reservations.

I blame it on the webpage developers, who clearly have difficulty with all the permutations created by Disney's Byzantine system. There are a few ongoing threads of how Disney has butchered the conversion from physical to electronic DVC membership cards.

Yes, I was part of that thread too! It was a major headache to try to get DVC Y to appear in my wallet but at least I was finally able to do so!

Yep, 2 separate reservations pools
Get this, even if you have a single resort reservation with all of you in the same room you can't book park reservations together.

Yes, I figured that since people were in the same room they could all book as park guests. But it made me book the AP holder as an AP holder and the rest as park ticket holders.

You are so lucky! I still have ND and purchased in 2009 and have a blue card!

What I hate is it can mean you can't get park reservations in the same park.
I doubt it's an issue often but we encountered it over Christmas Holidays when so many parks got booked
There was at least one day where we as AP holders with a resort stay could book in all 4 parks but the ticket holders with a resort stay couldn't. 2 parks were booked up. Made us change our entire plans around. That should never happen. Everyone in a single room especially should be able to book the same reservations.
