Park Reservations added for May

I just saw that Disney dropped more reservations for May today for all parks. I know they did this earlier for June and wanted to get everyone's thoughts on this. Is capacity going up before any announcement? We are going in early May and was excited that they only added for June, but it seems like the parks will continue to add people without adding any entertainment in May as well, or am I just being cynical?

I have a feeling it may be reallocation of park reservations from the AP bucket, but hard to say for sure.

The reason I am leaning that way is that for the first part of June, most days saw reservations open up for Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom (Epcot was already still open), but Magic Kingdom remains mostly blocked out the first two weeks. I would think if it was an across the board raising of capacity, you would have seen Magic Kingdom open up as well. Pure guess on my part though.

Good point, and I know they previously reallocated to the AP bucket, this may be a correction to that.

AHHHH. I'm probably the one person on here not happy about this. It's going to be so crazy busy when we're there next week! I did not anticipate the first week of May being insanely busy. I wasn't happy when it was all sold out. Now adding even more reservations is going to be insanity.

If you want to hold on to a little hope, AK and EPCOT are both closing an hour earlier in May than in April. If Disney knows exactly how many people are going to be in each park it must be a lighter crowd. Right? Also, I heard they are increasing capacity on some rides and restaurants, so hopefully if the crowds are bigger it won't make wait times longer or walkways more crowded. Crossing fingers!

Your not the only one. We're there next week as well, after canceling third week of April because we thought THAT week would be too busy!

Saw it, dunno why, don’t really care, as I got my HS reservation for 5/19 on a trip booked only a little while ago. Now who has the best hacking RoR virtual queue blog? :teeth: That is purely a nice to have, as my twins are a touch too young to get Star Wars.....

Dang it! I just knew I was going to miss it. :earboy2:
I was going to try switching my HS day to an AK day but I'm not willing to cancel my HS reservation without knowing if I'll get a new reservation.

I wish there was a way to see if something was available before actually cancelling.

I wouldn't over think it. We have no idea as to why they are available now

How do you make a reservation WITHOUT valid tickets?
One example: People that have Annual Passes that are staying on-site that had booked Disney resort rooms were able to make reservations that hit the "resort guest" bucket. If those people cancel their room reservations, their park reservations didn't automatically cancel and people may not have realized that they needed to take an separate step to cancel those. These are one of the groups of people that Disney is now reviewing.
