I arrived at the security line a few minutes after it opened :-(. I prefer to arrive at least ten minutes before but I still managed to be first in line at gate 3.
I was the first person in the park and scored my typical “empty Main Street” pic. For the past three weeks, people have run and I’ve barely managed to get it. Another half second and the opportunity would have been lost.
I was first on PP but the ride start was delayed by several minutes. There was no line for Mr
Toad and a very short wait for Dumbo. While in line for it, someone from the board — sorry don’t remember your board name, Amy! — approached me and said hello while I was in line for Dumbo. That’s always nice.
Did OK on Buzz. Broke 2M a few times but it only came through once. Crowds were lighter than last weekend and were decidedly light when I left at around 6:00.
As I sat on the porch and sipped my tea, Peter Tu (“The Clapper Guy”) went by on the second level of the bus. I caught his eye and raised my cup to him. He waved and started to clap. Then the bus began to ring its bell in time with him. It was a nice reminder of the way things used to be at DL , pre-war.
As I left, I saw a group of about 26 people being removed from the park en masse. No idea what was going on but I’ve never seen so many folks being booted at once. The security CMs were outnumbered by about five to one so if things had turned ugly… Glad they didn’t. I did notice something interesting, though. The group was shadowed by at least one security person in plain clothes (and I presume more). I saw the person eyeing the group with interest and then noticed the he was wearing an earpiece. As the group moved, so did he. I’ve never seen anything like that at DL but it always makes me wonder why people would spend so much $$ to come to the park and then do something to ruin their day. I saw a family get kicked out several weeks ago. I learned later that it was due to noncompliance with mask rules (when they were still required outside).
Some pics.
