Hey Folks,

We are going to DW for the first time in the last week of Aug and I'm having a hard time figuring out which parks to choose and where to go. I have two boys 4 and 1, as well as friends who are bringing thier 7 year old. I know Magic Kingdom is a must and its down on my list, but Epcot and MGM seem to be geared towards older kids. I'd like to go to Aminal Kingdom but I've heard mixed reviews. How about water parks, which one is the most fun for kids that age?

I'd also like to know about Disney Quest is that ok for our kids too?

I know there are a lot of questions, but any suggestions would be great.

Thanks.

How many days are you staying? Will you be onsite? We skip the water parks and Disney Quest, my boys are just too young for those video games. We park hop our entire time between all the Disney Parks. They're something for all ages in each park.

Obviously, MK is best for young kids. But Epcot has The Seas with Nemo, The Land boat ride ( my boys favorite), games to play at Innovations, and lots of culture to explore in World Showcase. They do have Kidcot stations in WS for the children.

AK has lots for them as well. We love the Safari and the Pocohantas show. We're hoping to see the Nemo show this trip and to play in the bone yard.

My boys also love Downtown Disney. They love the fountains, lego store, Once Upon a Toy Store and Mommy loves to shop at Mickey's Gourmet Shop :rotfl:

Edited to add: I forgot DHS. My boys love the stunt car show, Playhouse disney is a must see several times! We also love the restaurants here 50's Prime time and Brown Derby. We're trying Sci-Fi Cafe this trip.

We really need to know how many days will you be there and if you will be purchasing park hopper tickets.

I'm going in September for 5 days with a 4 y.o.. Our touring plan is:

Day 1 - Arrival day (we arrive around 10 am) - MGM/Hollywood Studios
Day 2 - MK
Day 3 - AK
Day 4 - Epcot
Day 5 - MK (our flight out isn't until 9 pm).

We are not staying on site, and I do not think we will be purchasing park hopper tickets.

Quick question about PH. It is worth it? It just doesnt seem necessary to me.

We are travelling with our two small boys 2.5 and 10 months and I asked pretty much the same question and was convinced to indeed go to Disney Studios.

Our plan is to get to each park for opening and then stay til about 2.00 to 3.00 seeing how we go and then leave without probably coming back with the boys, (we might leave them with the grandparents and come back alone) but I just didn't think they would be able to do it and if we can keep them into their normal sleeping habit they should be a cheerful while at the parks.

So I have left DS on our itinery, with regards to EPCOT cause our boys are so little I have decided not to do the World Showcase as I don't think they will get a lot out of it and we will save it for another trip in the future. But there seems to be plenty of things to do for our time frame in future world.

We plan to take Cullen our older boy to MNSSHP so he will see the fireworks there and we will try to get back one evening with both the boys for Spectromagic but they will be the only late ones for the boys.

We went in 2006 when my daughter was 5. We stayed on property for 7 nights & 8 days. Never did a waterpark, barely spent any time in downtown Disney. We "parked" it from sun up to sun down & then some.

MK - must do as you said.

AK - we love zoos & animals, so for us it was a must do. And we didn't really see alot of animals. The rides, shows, etc.

Epcot - I loved seeing it, but next time we may spend 1/2 day there doing some of the rides. There are still rides that I would go in to do, even if only 1/2 a day. If no kids, my husband & I would go for the sites & share a beer at every country:)

MGM - Now I thought that it was geared more for younger kids, not older. The shows to me were for the younger kids - to sit & relax & get out of the sun type day. And again, they have rides that I would like to do again too. Another 1/2 a dayer for us, on our next trip.

Never did any waterparks - want to next time, but didn't have the time on our 1st trip.

We are goin for our first trip in June, and I got us park hoppers. My reasoning behind it was - if we go to mgm and the kids are totally bored with it, which you won't know unless you try it, then you can go to a different park that same day and not have wasted a day on the ticket. Or another reason is for dinning, or to watch a parade or something you may have missed on another day.
