Park Photography at night

Quick question that I just need verification on.

Friend and I are staying offsite and want to do pics of MK at night. Looking at the hours, the park will close at 11 but has EMH until 1 am. Will we get kicked out not being eligible for EMH? We will have magic bands from our first night stay and actually will be checking back in to POR the next morning but won't onsite until then. I read recently about Disney using scanners to determine eligibility at the park entrance and again at ride entrances so I just want to make sure they haven't changed their policy on people being in the parks.

Just to be clear--we don't want to ride anything or benefit in any other way from EMH. We just want to stay as late a possible and be nerdy photogs!!

(And I'm not sure it's worth the extra $150 to check back in a day earlier.)

You'll be fine as long as you're not going on any rides. You don't get checked just walking around, so you can stay as long as you like. Typically, you can even push past the EMH closing time - as it takes a good 30-50 minutes for them to get the last folks cleared out and start walking through the park from the back clearing people - so during that time you can also keep photographing.

We did Mardi Gras last year! But no, I'm going the weekend after Easter. No kids this time! Woohoo!!

As said you will not have any problem staying in the park at that time. I have done that quite a few times. I have also stayed shooting long exposure pics after closing while everyone was walling out. The last time in the MK I was the last one out an hour after it closed.

Was Easter totally crazy? My daughters band will be there marching so I'm flying over rather than suffering through chaperoning on the bus.
I'm over by Lake Charles but grew up in Denham Springs.

You are picking a good weekend to be there. I was just there 10 days ago for the marathon weekend. I am supposed to be back up the 22nd/23rd weekend which is also the Princess 1/2 marathon weekend.

Now if the 22/23 weekend falls apart you can get escorted out the MK with me again
